doesn't this flattening out get you stuck from behind?
Is this in any way similar to Mike Malaska's swing concept of "over the top from the inside"? He says the club naturally wants to get behind you and flatten out at the top. So he advocates the feeling of tilting the club out or standing it up which cancels out the flattening to trace the plane from inside to out while pushing away from the club as it swings around you. Check out his YT videos or site, he is really on to something.
I noticed that you did not have the PGA logo on your bag, so I decided to look you up on the directory and I do not see you as a PGA Member.
@ lee blair
most natural and unforced move to shallow the club is to lead with the right elbow
chase your navel or my favorite outside the left thigh
what wasnt mentioned is that dds strong grip help enormously in this move
imagine impact with your right palm up
or hitting a nail into a wall with a hammer palm up with wrist action to suit
That's perfect Clay. My two swing thoughts that i really felt made a difference last year was the feeling that the back of my left hand faced the sky as as transitioned into my downswing and that i turn the knuckles of my left hand in towards my body as i come into the shot. I don't play winter golf and haven't picked up a club since Christmas but i have my first round next weekend. Any practice suggestions on getting your game into shape quickly after a 3 month break?
The best explanation I've seen. GREAT!
hey Clay love the videos! I have a slight problem with "the move" or shallow out the club in the swing because I have a bad right wrist and flexibility causes extreme pain. any way to compensate without totally ruining the motion?
Excellent explanation. I can't wait to try this.
DD also said that he doesn't rotate his wrists thru impact, rather they go from cupped to bowed.
Always great videos. Becoming my favourite golf channel. Where is this stunning location?
