  1. Sand Bunker: My best advice is to have you contact Brian, I am unqualified
as a mid handicap (about 10) hack myself (though improving!). However, I
will share my suspicions with you. A more upright stance will cause a
more rounded, flattish swing. This is great for the driver, but not so
much for the wedge which requires a more steep angle of attack. If you
swing rounded with a wedge, it will feel heavy in your backswing for
sure. If you watch Brian’s video closely you will see he blends an up and
down arm swing with his turning motion. In fact, he even allows his left
arm to bend a bit which I believe helps him get the club moving up and down
while he is turning back and forth. Longer shafts are not a bad idea, my
buddy has done the same thing due to his bad back, but make sure to get
    those lie angles checked!

NOW PROMISE ME that you will not focus on your arm swing, etc. Instead,
focus on a fluid, rhythmic turning back and through that you can learn more
about in Brian’s book, a move that he calls La Danse Du Golf. His
approach is to clear your mind of technical thoughts and to not worry about
swinging through certain positions. He said that tension is at the root
of all evil in the golf swing and truer words have never been spoken. I
don’t want to be the one who caused you to start thinking about your arm
swing, etc. causing tension. Be indifferent to the results! Keep those
arms and grip soft and just have fun.

I don’t know if my suspicions are correct or not, but it is my best attempt
based on the info you provided. And again, I cannot stress this
    enough….contact Brian!

    Thanks for watching!

  2. Hi I have watched Brians video a few times and purchased the book and am
probably a quarter way through reading. I have tried the swing in my garden
and there seems to be a nice divot after the point were i start my club
which is great. However when i put a ball there i seem to hit fat which as
always been my problem. Not sure if its casting with relaxed arms or
finishing the turn but only seems to happen when a ball is there ?? ..got
to finish reading the book first i suppose

  3. I too am tired of endlessly searching for the right tip that will give me
some consistency and take my game to the next level. I bought Brian’s book
two days after viewing your video and dove into it. A few driving range
sessions have had mixed results, but I have to say, I didn’t leave
exhausted and sore… wondering how I can stop coming over the top. I love
the book and am excited about getting rid of all the swing thoughts and
tension and just swinging and enjoying the game.

    Thanks!

  4. I just want to thank you for this video. I have purchased the book and
yesterday I shot an 81. Typically I shoot bogey golf and I have had more
improvement in the last month than I have had in years

  5. Amigo, good stuff. I am a golf instructor in Orlando Fl and have spoken
with Brian by Skype and we communicate on occasion even now. You did a
great with your video and anyone would benefit from your very well put
review. Bill Mehlhorn who played in the 1920’s was of this same mindset.
Your stack of golf books looks like mine. Good Golfing Cheers!

  6. Hi. Thank you so much for your video – well done ! Maybe I can ask you
a quick question: Brian Sparks seem to stand very upright with each of the
three clubs he is using in his video (Wedge, Long Iron, and Driver). I’d
love to do the same (I am 70 years old and the “old” back is not in the
greatest of shapes, and it hurts much less when I stand tall in my swing),
but with my Wedge, I need to bend down quite a bit so the wedge reaches the
ground. But when I am bent down like that, then I cannot swing like him
(and the back hurts). With my Driver though, I can stand very upright, and
I swing like he teaches, I hit it perfectly and effortlessly, and with NO
PAIN at all. Any comments you may have on this would be very much
    appreciated.
    Thanks again, and PLAY WELL.

P.S. For the sake of a test, I had an old wedge fitted with a longer
shaft, and yes I can swing upright with it, but the swing weight of the
wedge is now so heavy (compared with the driver) that it really doesn’t
    work :(

  7. HI Amigo

    Hope you are well.
I am eagerly awaiting the e- book of Mr sparks. I have tried the swing the
other day on the golf course and I can’t see myself swinging the club any
other way ever again. It simply is the easiest most body friendly swing
    there is.

Only thing is I am sure I am not doing every thing correct. Can you please
give me a few tips on things I should concentrate on and do etc.

    Regards
    Shawn

  8. Many thanks for this excellent video. I recently read Brian’s book (and
watched his videos) and look forward to experimenting with his method. I
notice that on YOUR swing, you are swinging much harder than Brian swings.
I would appreciate any comments you can offer about that issue and whether
you have experimented with easier swings. I realize that you don’t want to
do anything to decelerate the club and need to be mindful of the impetus
through the ball. I wish you all the best with YOUR game.

  9. This is the best no BS review I’ve ever seen and most helpful. Great job!
I visited the website and noticed that Brian recommends training with the
    SwingRite,any thoughts on that?

  10. Glad I found this video. I have as many books on golf as you and as a
result change my swing all the time. I have tried this simple swing today
at the range and could not believe I could hit the ball so far with so
little effort. I have sent for the book as you have recommended and can’t
wait to try it out on the course.

  11. Understood. If you watch Brian’s swing drill where he holds club parallel
to the ground as he pivots back and through, you will see that he does not
extend his arms. He just supports the club. I find if I feel as if my
upper arms rest softly on my chest through the whole motion, and I just
support the club so that when it stands up on the back swing, it feels
‘light’, everything happens very easily and naturally. Even though he is
‘rocking’ from one foot to the other, it is a turn. If you accentuate the
turn, it should help you feel as if your arms can stay relaxed and close,
and not ‘thrown’ out and extended. The pivot drives the club, not the
arms. Tough to wrap your head around, feel-wise, after spending years with
the ‘conventional’ stuff. Same for me, but paying great dividends, i.e.,
lower scores, fewer aches and pains, longer practice sessions.

  12. amigopheasantkiller: Love the method (works great for me), and enjoyed
your presentation. IMO, you’ve missed one important aspect of Brian’s
swing method. I think if you allow your left arm to fold a bit more at the
elbow so that you FEEL as if both elbows are ‘under’ the club at the top of
the back swing, you will increase your club head speed, and your swing
plane will not ‘wobble’ so much. That should improve your ball contact and
accuracy. In any case, that was my experience. By the way, I’m older and
fatter than you are, and I have a low, single digit handicap with this
    method. Thanks for the video!

  13. Really enjoyed your review. Just read “Swing the Clubhead” by Ernest Jones
which seems to be very similar in it’s approach. I am pretty positive that
concerning ones self with all those internal cues doesn’t work very well as
you’ve so eloquently pointed out. I see Brian Sparks has commented here.
Well I just bought your book….thanks again to you both.

  14. Hi Everyone, Brian Sparks here. I just want to explain that I’m in the
convoluted process of changing publisher and that’s why the book is
currently unavailable from most suppliers. It will come back soon in all
the normal places but, in the meantime, you can get a copy by going to the
positive impact golf website. Many thanks for the interest you have shown
    in my book, Brian
