seems like par should be more like 7 if they make no mistakes, not even close to a par 10. A short par 5 is around 500yds so to say 1000yds is par 10 is silly as a 500yd par 5 includes putting and if you double to 1000yds you have to consider that you only have to putt once, so the score will naturally be less. The way I see it you could have about 500yds left after 2 shots, then with a third hit of at least 200yds you will only have 300yds left. Then a simple layup on shot 4 and a chance of green in regulation on shot 5 at potentially 100yds and in. Power hitters could even get on the green in 4.

hate to disappoint but its a par 8! a 500yrd par 5 is a 3 shotter with 2 putts..you cant have 4 putts on 1 hole to top the par up..so basically 1000 yards is 6 shots and 2 putts at the end…..par 8
