Fellas I’m looking for a ant left fairway wood (right handed golfer and the only club in my bag that goes left) what should I be looking at?
Although Kevin is a WAY better golfer than me (I'm an 8.2 hdcp), we have nearly identical swing speeds in driver and 3 wood. My question is for Kevin's specific build if he were to build up a 3 wood (or 5 wood in my case). Is he going stiff or x in his preferred golf shaft? Any tipping? My current 3 wood is the TM Sim 2 Titanium with Ventus Blue Velocore 7X, tipped 1". It's an absolute rocket off the tee – in fact perhaps too close to my driver on centered hits – but I most definitely cannot spin it enough off the deck. I suspect the combination of shaft weight and tipping is the culprit. I've since replaced that 3 wood with a TM Mini driver, which I absolutely love, and now I need something to hit off the deck on par 5's, or off the tee on short par 4's. I'm thinking a 4 or 5 wood, somewhere in that 16.5 to 17.5 loft, and I'm debating moving down to a stiff shaft but keeping it tipped 1". Or… do I go with the 7X and leave it un-tipped? I know the answer to my questions is to go get fitted, but unfortunately there is nothing close to me so that is unrealistic. So I guess the short version is: 7S tipped 1", or 7X untipped? Thanks!
5 woods in the future please.
Waste of time why test callaway 's forgiving max series and not Taylormades equivalent qi max?
great review!! need a DEEP faced 15-17* fairway wood for off the tee only, non draw bias & high moi ideal, any suggestions?
Video says it all
just ordered a Qi10 Max 7 wood excited to get it went with Ventus TR blue regular flex shaft and the MCC +4 grip if all goes well i plan to get the 3 wood also cheers from Canada
Will you be doing a video on the new cbx zipcore iron set…
No adjustability in the taylormade is a deal breaker for me. I tend to be a 2 degree upright player and this essential for woods to fit me.
It can’t be cost savings because these things cost way too much as is. Must be lazy engineering!!
@Kevin Kraft. – in many long years of trying clubs on my own or through a so called proper fitting, the best experience I’ve ever had was with you where at the end you told me that my driver was s nice fit and nothing else in the market at that time was better suited.
At my suggestion We ended up taking a look at the transition between irons and woods and found a fantastic Callaway Utility UX to fill that gap.
Credit is the least you deserve from all of us on this side of the “tube”. Thank you for all the work you put into these reviews.
Qi10 Max would have smoked these..
they just mentioned this on Golf Central last night about the winner Stefan Jaeger always being in motion when he grabs the club. definitely keeps you in a positive rhythm
hi-M. 0. i.??? Why not test DarskSpeedMAX & Qi10MAX ? Love the circle on the St-MAX-230
Now that is a nice shirt Kevin.
What’s your go to island drink? I like a Miami Vice to cool down and relax.
When I got fitted I ended up going with the Dark Speed X. Got a 3 wood and 4 hybrid, very nice clubs.
Can y'all do testing on the hybrids?
Problem with AI Smoke No adjustable hosel with anything except the 3W 👎
Wishing golf season would start so I can get warmed up before I come get fitted. Another great production.
I'd pick the QI10 from those 4 on the basis of balance between launch, distance and spin plus looks…..but I'd prefer to be able to adjust it so I'll be waiting for Titleists new line
Ai smoke is awesome.
Smoke has an extra gear, but I'd worry about hitting it into greens with that lower spin.
