#i525 #i59 #ping #pingiron
I compare Ping i525 against Ping i59 two forged golf irons which are hollow construction offering fast ball speeds, forgiveness, consistency, forged like feel and tour inspired looks. I provide my feedback and test results……..which are interesting.

I had the i525s and couldn’t control distance consistently. It’s a distance iron. I59s for consistency
which one is the clear winner
Might need to redo this one with the i230 in the mix……
11 hcp. I tried most of the players distance options in March, shortlisted P790 and i525 and got fitted into i525 in May. Graphite shaft, 2* upright, retro spec to gap properly with my existing 52,56,60* wedges. Love them so far. I originally wanted Mizuno 225s but for me they lacked the consistency of P790 and i525. Fitting was the key to getting irons that suited my swing and clubhead delivery.
On your next ping test would you please show the difference between power spec standard loft and retro to see what it does to spend rate thank you
Interesting to see Matt Fitzpatrick wins the open playing with “ proper” S55 Ping cast irons. When will Ping get the message that there’s still a market for the clubs that they built their reputation with.
If I was to go PING, I'd do i59 in 7-PW in power spec and then 6 and 5 in the i525 in the regular lofts.
Have tried both of these. The i525 is long but the spin is way to low… The i59 felt great and went great but boy oh boy…why so expensive? Ended up buying the Wilson Staff Blades… best of all three, love em!
I have the i525's in Power Spec and they are rockets. Went with the Project xIO x-stiff shafts at 115g and I think it's a great combo due to the overall light swing weight of these clubs. And don't be concerned with any bad sound with range balls/mats, as I've noticed they sound great with any premium ball off grass; night and day really.
My only con with these irons is that they are so hot off the face that they are not good with any short chipping around the green. Too hard to control the distance.
Bit like a comparison between TM P770 and P790??
Plus, as a raw material stainless steel is generally softer than carbon steel. It’s all down to what they do in the hardening process
