Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

No offense Rick bud I’d like to see a pro do this to get the best results

@gerardgmz says:

I had a Calloway 4 wood much smaller than that driver you're testing, and I would use it off the tee – straight into the fairway.

@stevefowler2112 says:

You should have tested the Great Big Bertha…that was the driver that was quickly outlawed by the USGA and Royal and Ancient for competition play because it broke the rebound limit. Regardless, I took the game up in the late 80's/early 90's and wasn't very good but i did hit a couple measured 295 yard drives with a Big Bertha…and mine had graphite stiff callaway shafts

@BujinkanBLC says:

Hi Rick, I'm from Darwen, just found out you're a MU fan, where's the BWFC love?

@nicholasfernandez2400 says:

I still have a 1991 big bertha

@larrydemonte2218 says:

I still have my Calloways big Berta

@robertcarr4172 says:

I have big Berthas in my bag. Just started so i bought some old clubs from a colleague. They seem very nice and i paid a pittance for them

@TurboKorea says:

Hand on Heart, I still use This exact 1991 Callaway Driver XD

@ODGreenZa says:

I actually remember being a kid when this driver came out. Couldnt afford the real big bertha. Got the knock off version called big brother ????

@boxmediaphile7316 says:

iv got that BB club head but its shaft broke, love to get it fixed because it holds semimetal value

@kevinvoorheis1990 says:

I still have the 2 wood version of that Big Bertha in my bag. Great club even today

@austinthompson2127 says:

I carry the Big Bertha Sky Hawk 3, 5, and 7 woods in my bag! Love the flight and distance I get off of them! Great clubs

@austinthompson2127 says:

Big Bertha. The Driver that Won the West. I completely made that up, but, ya gotta admit it's spot on.

@kennyoliver2403 says:

To me this seems like a much better solution to the so-called distance debate for the PGA Tour. Give the smaller less forgiving woods and make them play with blades. Leave the golf ball alone! Lol!

@ianbarr5110 says:

32 years difference and 22 yards difference. I was expecting a bit more.

@beniteztheconman says:

Why be surprised? Golf clubs are all marketing and hype. Virtually no difference between new models and clubs from previous years.
Golf club companies release new models every year for the mugs to buy.

@marksakowski9272 says:

It is not "steel haeaded driver" !!!!!!Rick after going a big time commercial you are bananas!

@t.pisani8239 says:

Carrying 280? I had no idea. Impressive.

@steffydog says:

Interesting, I bet if you made the BB shaft longer you’d gain the extra distance, it’d then show that nothing much has changed in 30 years?

@alonzobrickman7418 says:

I remember when the BB was first out on the market. Compared to anything else it looked like a grapefruit on the end of a stick. Now it looks like a 5W. How times change.

@highimphilip says:

Instead of usga scaling back the golf ball why not just scale back on new drivers come out? I know it’s all money. In baseball the pros use wooden bats.

@jaymorin7131 says:

Any chance driver technology updates are helping to explain the USGA rolling back the golf ball?

@billyellis1552 says:

Mike Dunnaway could his these old Callaway drivers over 350yards sometimes.

@christianglenn6860 says:

4 mph in 32 years of difference, I’m new to the game so idk but that just doesn’t sound to crazy?

@gtpwilly3503 says:

I pulled my 97 Big Bertha out this year for a few rounds and was impressed. I hit quite a few 300 yard drives with it. My new driver is easier but these old berthas are great.

@topher.m says:

Put the same shaft in the OG big bertha
