#ping #i525 #g430
In this weeks video I compare the new Ping G430 iron against the i525 iron, which is also in the current range. The G430 iron is designed for maximum distance and forgiveness whilst the i525 has the added feel.
I compare ball speed, launch, spin, distance, forgiveness and consistency.

Nicely done. Time for an upgrade for me. I've been playing G10 for years. When I was working, played a couple times per week at a private club & had a 8 to 10 handicap. Now retired, playing four times per week and pushing the handicap down to 5 to 6 range. Usually a nice soft draw, don't try to move it (left to right) for a given shot. My old Pro put me on G10's for the forgiveness. So have been looking at G430 for forgiveness as well. But with your video looking at i525 as well. Surprised at the greater length with theG430 over i525. FINALLY to my question. (sorry) How much of the length gain is due to the difference in club degrees between the G & i??? Looking at the G430 vs. G10………….it's like hitting my G10 6 iron vs. the G430 7 iron. Of course I will get my distance with a G430 7 vs. G10 7. Thanks for your time.
I went to pick up some G430's and the sales guy talked me into the i525's. I'm happy with the i525's but I wonder if the G430's would have been more forgiving. I'm a beginner & high handicapper, so the 430's might have been the better choice but I suppose I can at least grow into the 525's 🙂
Do you think these would combo well?
I'm doing a ping fitting this month. I really like the looks of the i525. I'm a 15HCP, but I'm improving a lot and plan to be in the single digits by mid summer.
