Prime example of not being able to teach an old dog new tricks. I cannot even master the L to L drill. Backswing is fine but I continue to let the trail hand take over on the downswing. Frustrating as heck.
This is my go to thought.
There is Tony Finau swing🎉
At 1:25 you say one of the most important reminders regarding Pro's v Amateur. I've spent FAR too long trying to emulate that look from the Pros only to realize it's just not consistent enough and ends up causing so many problems. I always wondered why the Pro's don't have that pronounced L on the follow through only to conclude that it's just not in my skill set. Great Video, thanks.
Hey Mike i was wondering in the swing. Is your left arm connected to your chest?
I'm a 3hcp and never been able to draw those 50m pitch shots until recently by focusing on mike's hand motion and Lto L.
are the forearms touching in the follow through?
Mike, what angle should the club shaft be at impact? should my arms, hands and club all be in a line? or should the club angle outward to the ball? real confused. being told I have no outward angle to the ball at impact.
Im a 6 currently and L to L has always been my full swing…on camera its much more than l to l…this is great advice
This L to L drill & grip instinct drill took me from a mid 90s golfer to breaking 80 in two months, but I also hit 75 balls a day 5 days a week
What blow me away is how much my short game improved, Grip instinct & L two L drills are truly amazing, I’ve never got results like this, I don’t slice anymore, but I still don’t draw the ball yet, but straight shots from a slice are bad Ass😃
L to L??!! Five years ago you were promoting the stable release, body swing with Milo Lines–a swing most of the current tour players use. The L to L is very timing intensive and leads to a lot of two way misses for most golfers. I much prefer the swing you "used to" teach-the stable release, body, Milo Lines swing. For me it is MUCH more consistent and results in MUCH straighter ball flight. I guess if I had oodles of time to hone an L to L swing i "might" be able to make it work but as a typical golfer, I prefer a swing that is MUCH easier to master and has great results.
Thank you Mike, this was a mind blowing experience for me! I've been golfing for 10 years and still a 20 handicap because I keep trying to imitate the pros lag angles and just can never get consistency (I'm very athletic and always excel in sports). THIS video teaching me the L to L swing, changed everything for me within one range session. It utterly blew my mind! Suddenly I'm striking the ball pure and the ball is flying much further. And I can actually use my driver again when my previous teacher told me to stop using the driver! My irons shots on the course are SO pure now and I'm hitting more greens, and suddenly having FUN again! Thank you! Now I'm angry at others teachers are so focused on pro angles and hip turn, when a simple concept like L to L is all we weekend golfers need to go out and hit some pure shots straight and enjoy the game. Thank you for sharing this with the world, we owe you.
I learned the L to L swing from a great guy, Dan Morgan, a pro at Papago. Dan said he learned it from Joe Nichols. It sure helped me a lot, got lucky and won the Men's Club Championship at Encanto in 1986, 1987, and 2005. Sure wish I could make it work again!
Hi Mike-I am a subscriber to your website but I cannot find where I can ask a question or make a comment, so I am doing it here. If you get a chance, check out the "Broom Drill" on the Intelligent Golf Performance Youtube channel. This drill is unbelievable to get the correct feeling of the "Malaska Move" and you might want to share this with your members. Love your teaching but I gotta say that the website was easier to navigate (for me) before the recent changes.
But where is the Malaska move? It seems not to occur in this L to L move?
Help. I really struggle with the lead arm re-hinging. I’m a good player but for some reason this part is always a struggle for me. Any friendly tips or ideas to help? It’s almost as if I’m afraid to let it re-hinge. Thanks in advance.
L to L is the best advice for 90% of golfers. Great video as per usual 👏👏
Very helpful information as usual. Thanks.
Hi Mike. I love it when you show what the arms and hands do through the L to L swing in slow motion so I can really train them going through the golf ball. Thank you for those brilliant lessons. Great for senior golfers for sure!! 😍👏
Simple, L to L half to three quater swings, pretty much all i play with nowadays, the momentum of the driver is the only club means i swing it slightly longer, i hit it plenty far enough using this method, and most importantly very consistently
