In this video, Liam Robinson talks through the question that keeps coming up in the comments…”How do you hit driver?”

push back with left foot centripetal force
Brilliant explanation. I paused the video and went outside to try it with an alignment stick – the difference in speed and sound was amazing. Going to try it on the range tomorrow with my driver.
The alignment STIX THROW demonstrated the massive difference between drop low then pull and rotate vs drip low and post up with a throw.

Hi Liam, I’m a new subscriber. Do you have any tips for we seniors? I’ve slipped from 7 to 15 handicap and have lost serious distance. Thanks.
Aaaha! Ben Hogan! Front foot forward.
Fantastic driver tip$
Guys as a Top100 Fitter i can’t help to get a lot of what you are talking about with shaft flex, kick point and lie angle. Grip too to some extent. I notice the Pro is in Ventus red as am I and i use loft to offset my trap / lack of release. Please mention fitting to accentuate the teaching process. Brian Alderson 50yards longer
Is it better with bend lead arm to be able to throw ?
@8:45 TPI also had some interesting drill for it. It's basically sitting on a rotating chair. And then jus set off with your left leg. And try to turn 90 degrees. Most people will trust their pelvis towards the left foot (while pushing away). But your upper body and arms need to go the other way. So while pushing, your upperbody goes in the other direction.
This is gold mate. I've been taught to hold of the face and just turn my body to square up the face. Then, the harder you turn the further is goes. But this video gave me another perspective. I'm just afraid about the throwing part. I've did it before (I hit it much further) but my coach doesn't like it cause it is harder to control the face at impact and I'd start to pull/hook shots. How do we make sure this stays controlled when actually throwing?
Great video! I’m trying to learn the release. I’ve been struggling with the driver lately. feeling impossible to get good flight and distance. Is the feel like throwing a frisbee as hard as you can with your lead hand?
When Liam talks about moving laterally in the direction he prefers wouldn’t that essentially be moving into the ball and losing pelvic depth or is just intent while keeping pelvis deep?
I like Liam's concept a lot. The difficulty for me is the throw in phase. After lateral move to lead side = pressure down, activating movement up and back lead leg + hands throw needs quite lot of right timimg. Like when trail side tranfers from passive to active in down swing.
Amazing content. Thank you.
the f`ct we can access this gold for free is actually a joke! Top work fellas, and TY for sharing
You can tell you guys are both so passionate about learning and teaching. Liam is class and there’s so much gold in these videos and your interactions
Some very useful insights here. I’ll give this a good tomorrow
When I don’t throw and post early enough mr driver is about 250, posting and releasing early takes my drive up to 280. Very good video.
great lesson thanks for sharing
That section on pulling resonated with me so much as a player who plays right handed but is left handed I have alot of pull in my golf swing
