Im completely new to golf. And the man in the shop recommended me this and i feel that was a bad decision
Freddie, mate, you explain STUFF better than the others I've seen, it's simple and in less words.
That's super refreshing.
BY the way, I'm a 9 hc I am a longer hitter that most of my golfers, Ave about 240-250m in summer, but can bomb them 295+ with good conditions.
shopping for a new driver,
I'm always leaning towards LS heads at 9.5-10 loft.
happy with Stiff but on the light side, (50g).
Tend to push right a bit,
Current drivers are, a Broken XXIO 9.5 non adjustable. 43g S
and an Epic Max LS , 9* adjusted to 10. 50g S.
XXio is longer by 10m but not as forgiving.
I'm assuming the LS are the longest driver with some forgiveness, am I wrong into thinking that the 10k drives are not as long as the LS ?
and in your opinion, is the Ls smoke the longest or the 2024 models?
I’ve been swopping between shafts atm Fuji blur and kura kage hitting the kage in reg. flex so much better though fancy trying a ventus which one would be a better option red or blue don’t think the black one suit me I’m 58 and around 240 yards with that one I had a fitting years ago but it wasn’t a great experience
What about the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max Fast model? is that just a shaft differentiation along with the D bias?
Incredible breakdown thank you!
Freddie, my girlfriend normally hits her drive straight but her misses are push fades. She obviously can use some improved distance. Her drives go about 180 to 200 yards carry and roll. Her ball flight is a mid trajectory but high on a push fade. From this video I can't tell if a Max D or a Max with the sliding weight towards the heel would work better for her to counter her push-fades. Any thoughts on this?
30 day wait for my Max “D” in my shaft/head combination. So say the pro shop 😭
Brought the max D fantastic I have gone down from 18 now playing of 14 getting 20m further.
Freddie i cut the ball as i hit down and across it, find that so hard to get away from (playing over 30 years that way) would a max d help or what about these mini drivers im seeing would they help? Thanks
The other difference he didn't mention is the Max D has a 60 degree lie angle where the max is 58 degrees. 2 degrees isn't huge but there's a reason callaway put that club more upright on the draw model.
Good info, I’ll have to try toying with the ‘upright’ setting as well as the weight… I’m playing the standard Paradym but haven’t moved the weight yet.
Buuut, does anyone here have a guess as to why the two trackman simulators I use both seem to read drivers terribly? Iron & wood ball flight and data all seems very accurate, but driver swings always seem to show up as short and slicey for my buddies and I. On the course I hit my drives around ~265-270 but the simulator always has me at like 225 🤔 I’d love to do my driver tinkering in the sim, but feel like I can’t trust the readings. Only the driver seems off though.
What's the sim setup you've got going?
Interesting vid. I have a natural fade so do like the D models in drivers. I go neutral with FWs and Hybrids though, for shot shaping.
Standard lie angle of the Max is 58* while Max D is 60*. Upright setting will increase it by 3*. The Max seems better for most due to its adjustability.
