L.A.B. Putters just released the new Oz.1i, a mallet designed with feedback fro 2013 Masters champion Adam Scott. Like the L.A.B. DF3, the new Oz.1i has Lie Angle Balance, but it also has a milled stainless steel insert and other features. So is the L.A.B. Oz.1i better than the DF3? Which putter, the L.A.B. Oz.1i or the L.A.B DF3 will help you hole more putts?

This is easily the best LAB video on the internet. Simple explanations and I love it. Thanks my man and thanks @labputters for being great! Maybe the next video can be MEZZ 1 MAX VS OZ?

@drj7328 says:

The only part of the fitting im not sure about is whether to get a forward press or not. Can you help?

@joebust779 says:

I've a feeling in their effort to make a more normal-feeling putter, they're deviating from their original goal. Do you want a LAB or do you want a normal-looing, feeling putter? Buy another brand if you want a normal feel.

@therookiemistake9714 says:

What is the difference to you regarding the oz1i in the superstroke VS OG lab grip? With the superstroke also autopilot stroke like the df3?

@jimitheweave7694 says:

Tried them both. Ended up getting the Odyssey square 2 square jailbird for £224. Love it.

@somethingclever1234 says:

I tried both of these putters, the Oz surprised me, it was nice but, I ended up with a custom DF3. You need to get fitted, don't buy off the shelf (unless you are super lucky and just happen to fit a 69deg shaft tilt and 34/35" shaft). I got fitted at the PGA Superstore.

What’s so special about lab golf putters? I’ve been buying multiple scotty camerons a year

@derekgonzalez8066 says:

WHICH ONE IS BETTER???? I’m torn!!!

@GavinLi-k2r says:

Hi David, Great Video. I have a quick question, how about if my putting path is nearly strght back and stright follow through. do i need change my putting path to litttle arc? thank you

@jasonverbarg9790 says:

Wow. I bought the OZ.1 and have been trying to take it straight back with not so good results. After watching this video and taking a normal putter swing it was night and day better. Thank you!!!!

@chris-qq4nr says:

BEST video on explaining lie-angle balance, and terrific (as always) reviews of the differences between the DF3 and OZ1i putters. Enjoyed this review!! My question would be could I replace the stock steel shaft with a BGT Stability putter shaft? And, also (even though you can spec the lie angle you want when ordering the OZ1i) can you change the lie angle using a putter bending machine? Thanks!!

@patrickwhelan8118 says:

I do like the DF3 to be able to pick up the ball without bending down. Can you scoop it up with the rear of the Oz1?

@daviddicicco195 says:

Thank you for explaining this! So helpful

@K9388-n3z says:

DF3. Who cares what it looks like. And I like it

@henrikvester7171 says:

You explain the concept very well and straight forward 👌

@Stevehall931 says:

I thought the 2 deg lean was standard and there are different press grip options for the shaft lean version; the vertical shaft has more options for grips. Worth getting fitted as with the putter tracking fitted found the zero shaft lean was suited to my stroke – going for the zero shaft lean oz.1i

@unlistedvideos5934 says:

Excellent explanation. You are more articulate than most on YT.

@frankmckay905 says:

Excellent review of the LAB OZi putter. Thank you.

@andreasball4845 says:

Hi David, I really enjoy watching your videos! I’m thinking about getting the LAB oz1i.
How would you compare it to the Scotty Cameron Phantom 5.5 which you also tested? Which one do you personally prefer? Your help would be very much appreciated. Best wishes all the way from Germany

@athipkarnplumchit5089 says:

so looks and price aside, im a terrible putter and need something thats just the easiest to putt with and offers a soft feeling, which LAB do i use ,thanks:)

@jaw3415 says:

Df3 is the best. Just takes time to get used to.

@JJ_Khailha says:

Does the milled insert help getting long putts to the hole on slower greens?

@johndavid3114 says:

Df3 is beautiful

@maamold says:

A bit of a correction here for you, you have two versions of the OZ.1i in your hands. The one with the standard grip is designed with 0° forward press to the shaft, the one with the grip is designed with 2° press to the shaft.

@wweisband says:

Thanks for great info on the
OZ. 1 I… Most importantly, can I scoop up the ball with the back of it? 😊

@AaronS-q2p says:

All LABs are great. I have the identical Adam Scott version Mezz Max and it’s a game changer.
What ever suits your eye is a winner✅

@07BS says:

Thanks – I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work! Have you tested the new Titleist GT hybrids?

@scottw9267 says:

You cannotut put a superstroke (or other) on the oz unless you choose the zero shaft lean option. If you have the 2 percent shaft lean, you need to use the lab grips.

If you go for the zero shaft lean, your hands are going to be behind the face.

@leftygolf says:

Great video. I noticed that the insert looks more like a Cameron grove pattern and the other Lab Putters have the grove pattern of an old Rife or new Evenroll putter. They say the design of the long vertical groves helps improve distance control. Could you tell any difference (other than the spring/firmness) between the insert and the regular face? I hope I am making sense with the question 😀
