Here's my full golf lesson with Challenge Tour player Liam Robinson. Liam got me hitting the ball better than I had in ages within just a few swings, and gave me some simple things to work on that I could do on my own, to improve my swing and be able to self-diagnose when things go wrong.

Are you having golf lessons at the moment? What are you working on?

@keepswingingspain says:

It’s interesting that in this video Lian uses much more rotation, but nowadays he has practically removed rotation from his vocabulary, explaining that it’s simply a reaction to the movement and the release that happens due to lateral shifts and the club’s release. I actually discovered Lian recently and I’m delighted— I really love his way of seeing golf and improving.

I've just watched this amazing lesson for tbe 3rd time having only recently found Rob's channel. I have been following the Dr Kwon videos, and Zen Golf Mechanics and believe Liam's thoughts about the swing to be similar those channels. I appreciate there are some differences, but the early use of the ground is a common factor. The thing I really relate to is the clear instruction and explanations Liam gives to Rob throughout. I prefer being told what to do, and why I'm doing it, over absorbing a feel with no affirmation. Liam is so clear about what he wants, and his predictions of outcome can only inspire student confidence in what he says. Absolutely excellent Rob and Liam. Thank you.

The "soft arms" comment is by far, one of the best tips to give. Allow your body to turn with soft arms, then ensures you don't have to pull your arms. Great lesson.

👋 to anyone else watching this in 2022. It's the video I come back to when I need to learn how to play golf again and it always seems to work 🙏

@CraigalFun says:

I keep coming back to this video. I love it

@martynmantack4026 says:

I’ve just been practising that move, It feels great. Will be trying it when the Driving range opens Monday.

@brandx7216 says:

Where did you guys go enjoy the videos

@tombailey4180 says:

What app are you using on your phone to look at your swings ?

@seanboland3560 says:

Superb, really enjoyed

@mcpappysgolden says:

Liam, give me your Venmo. I'm gonna send you a hundred bucks!

@whoinventedmonday says:

What app is Liam using at 9:05? That would be so useful for me to analyse my swing with front and DTL view playing side by side.

@tonyguest581 says:

Rob mate. I can not thank you enough for posting this video I took these swing thoughts that Liam suggested straight to the course yesterday with no prior practice and it was amazing.
I've been struggling with my game for over a year now, I have a problem with coming over the top which is causing me so much trouble at least three shanks around and I'm on the verge of giving up the game.
I used to play off 12 but my handicap has gone up to 18, have had numerous PGA pro lessons but they are all soo technical. The lesson you had with Liam is so simplistic I got it straight away and had a great game, looking forward to taking this to the range I'm working on it over the winter. Thanks again Rob and good luck with your game.

So I watched this video and thought I may have a similar issue of the left knee collapsing…went to the range with just 1 swing thought…"hold the left knee position" and I probably hit the ball better than I have before…waiting for the next chance to see if it wasnt just a lucky day

@stuartp1374 says:

Holding my left knee hurts.. surely it has to move some.. so how much give is allowed?

@denster1YT says:

Actually, I quit my coach two days after this video and joined TGN site. Liam is a great communicator and his message resonates with me.

@Hicksy-by4tt says:

Does it matter what club you use for the smash bag stuff?

@aidanr459 says:

Came across this video and couldn't believe how simple the first 20 minutes was to improving striking and distance. Went down the range and practised what Liam said about the front leg and I was middling absolutely everything, came close to cracking a drive 300 yard – 294 was my best and only used to hit around 265-270. Will be going through the next 20 minutes and seeing what else is being said for sure!!

@AlexT737 says:

Hey Rob, at around 40:20 Liam says the last level of the drill is to "tighten the pivot", what is the objective in doing that? I also wanted to ask why the one handed drill is needed? I've found these drills incredibly helpful, just wanted these clarifications

@bengreen1262 says:

Just brilliant video – Like Rob anyone really wanting to get good ( I don’t mean quick fix) this is gold – I will be looking at Liams website as I chasing similar goals to Rob – 👍👍

@mattvirgo15 says:

Glad you're back into golf. Best video you've done yet and lots of Liams comments make sense.

@wantonjr1 says:

Good information, there is a pro in California Named Greg Mchatton that teaches these concepts, soft arms and hard work of the body.

@mikejackson9105 says:

This is the 3 time of watching now, I am now starting to understand how to turn not slide, what a difference it’s starting to make with my shots. I am keeping this video as reference. 😀😀🏌️🍻🇨🇦

@Tigersmundo says:

Supurb explanation Liam post and tear up the ground on the lead side! Goes along with all the 3D measurements.

@Ecclestone71 says:

Rob thanks for sharing your and Liam’s insights! Staying centered over the Ball and a more rotational swing massively improves the quality of strike and I feel I gain more control and confidence over the starting line and curvature of the Ball. Today back nine 67% GIR … that’s tour style and up like 10% from Tee Par 3s and the Deck! That’s the ride track to ride on! Bernd Germany
Ps: Pretty easy once you got it! Connected backswing, staying centered over the Ball, Push in the trail leg, rotate in and through and at last let the arms and hands work in! Cool stuff!

All you need to know about golf – thank you for the great video.
