1983 Masters – Seve at the Last

The 1983 Masters Tournament was the 47th Masters Tournament, held April 7–11 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Seve Ballesteros won his second Masters and third major title, four strokes ahead of runners-up Ben Crenshaw and Tom Kite. Play on Friday was postponed due to heavy rain, and the final round was completed on Monday for the first time since 1973.

  1. The final hole of the 1983 Masters was vintage Seve. His tee shot was wild, hitting a tree to the right of the fairway. After the tee shot ricocheted to the edge of the fairway, he hit his second over the green. The rest was captured on this upload. Instead of a potential double or triple bogey, had his drive ricocheted the wrong way, he ended up parring the hole to cap off an easy win that he clinched after the first hour of play, playing the first four holes four under par (3-3-4-2) to go from one behind to four ahead, and was never seriously threatened after that.
