“Air Under the Armpits” – Full Golf Swing Extension (Golf's #1 Lag Instructor Clay Ballard)

The best golfers in the world know when to stay connected in their swings and when to let it rip with a powerful extension. I see many students trying to stay connected well into the follow through, so let's focus on when you should get extension in your swing. Find out what I mean when I say that you need “air under the armpits.”

In this video, I'll show you what you really need to feel as you release your energy into the ball at impact. You'll see pro swings such as Dustin Johnson, Boo Weekley, and Tiger Woods and how they generate so much power with their impact and extension positions.

You want to use the big muscles in your body, but watch this video to find out when to release for a powerful extension, just like the pros.

Good luck with your golf game,
Clay Ballard

  1. Hey Clay I was thinking it would be cool if you guys could go over how to
practice golf. I know you’ve talked about it on your website referencing
the Talent Code. And I have read the book and Coyle’s Little Book of
Talent, but I’m curious how we can practice in a way where we are
struggling and our at the ends of our abilities. Especially in the short
game? Thank you and keep up the great work!

  2. you are correct, the best golfers( although not the best ball strikers) in
the word do exactly what you say, but you really have to have spot on
timing and hours of practice to let the club fly out away from the body
like that, even than, tiger and co get into trouble with acuracy. as a
weekend golfer, ive found body realase more favorable, after all, Hogan
cant be wrong. But i understand this is the modern way of teaching.

  3. Clay, what about tempo. I believe that’s one of the most difficult things
to master as the mind plays games with your body telling that you must go
fast on the downswing which causes lots of inconstant shots.
