Charlie Wi shoots for a wire to wire win at Pebble. Tiger Woods just 4 back heading to Sunday

Cal alum Charlie Wi will never feel pressure like he will tomorrow. Tiger will not be in his final group, but Wi will be well aware of him lurking in the foursome ahead. Playing a solid 3 under 69 at Spyglass Hill, Wi maintained his 3 shot lead on Saturday in his quest to go wire to wire for his first PGA Tour victory. Charlie Wi is 15 underpar through 3 rounds. Ken Duke, earned his way into the field thanks to a strong Nationwide Tour season in 2011, and stands 3 back at minus 12. The 43 year old Duke rebounded from a Friday 73 at Spyglass with a 65 at MPCC today. 2 time AT&T champ Dustin Johnson also played Monterey Peninsula, but could only match par 70. The long hitting Johnson is 6 off the lead, as is Phil Mickelson. Woods is 4 back and alone in 3rd following today's 5 under par 67 at Pebble Beach, as he chases two PGA tour non-winners. Tiger has 71 victories on his resume. Defending Champion D.A. Points made the cut which fell at 1 under par, but his amateur partner Bill Murray was not among those who survived. Football coaches Bill Belichick and Bob Stoops did advance as did former 49er Harris Barton and current Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo who is teamed with Woods. Actor comedian Ray Romano will also tee it up Sunday, as will San Francisco Giant pitcher Matt Cain.
