I’m a 3 handicapper and I really enjoy these irons…
Picked them up in 2011 for my last season playing college Golf… Used them
at the RCGA tournament…I think they’re great! Great price point too
I appreciate your reviews. Very thorough and helpful with the purchase of
my last set of irons (rocket blades). Keep up the good work!
I have these and I have played about 35 rounds with them. At first, I
played them at standard lie and standard length and with good results. I
finally took them to Golf Galaxy with me a few weeks ago and hit them off a
lie board and found out I needed them to be bent upright 2*. Since doing
that, I hit these things long and straight; whereas before, I pushed them
out to the right a lot on par 3s and approach shots. I am between a 12 and
a 16 HCP throughout the year. I have a driver swing-speed of about 95 to
100 MPH. During the warm months I hit the PW 135ish, 9i 145/150ish, 8i
160ish, 7i around 172, 6i around 185, 5i 200. They do have a nice mid to
high launch as Mark points out. I can work them a little bit although I am
just beginning to get better at that. I can hit a nice cut shot with the
the 5i when slightly blocked out from my target. I can also draw them into
a par 3 when needed (not that I always do it when I try but they can be
worked is all I am saying). I also have Dynamic Gold R300 shafts on mine,
2* bent up, and standard length (although Golf Galaxy told me to have 1/4″
taken off after bending them upright but I just had new grips put on so
that will have to wait. And, I might not shorten them with the way they
have been playing for me since having them bent upright). Hope this helps
someone.
Ahh… finally Mark’s review of my Golf Clubs 😀 Thanks Mark! Appreciate
the work you do!
And now after that review i am going to get them thanks for the video 🙂
There was a golf digest article on this recently. The ONLY advantage to
mats they say is forgiveness on fat shots, which will bounce into the ball
instead of digging. Aside from that, you loose distance and spin off of
mats as clubs and balls were designed for grass. Also they mentioned, and I
know this from experience, unless you use high performance mats, you’re
going to be more injury prone as the hard rubber and turf can
cause/exacerbate strains, tendonitis, etc…. Plus, chicks dig grass.
Mark, I would very much appreciate a video on drills for getting your
weight through. Or at least a redirection to a video you’ve already done.
Thanks!
would you suggest them for a 26 handicap?
haha oops, yeh Ryder Cup is getting to me
@iVisioNXBL yes it does rub off very quickly and soon becomes a regular
chrome steel effect. I would recommend getting satin irons as chrome glares
and the black rubs. Hope this helps!
Hello Mark, I just saw my local pro shop selling 3BAYS GSA PRO. Could you
compare it with trackman. and see the accuracy? Thanks!
Great vid as always!
can you do Cleveland wedges? I’m considering them along with titleist
vokey. cheers
Hey Mark,, Will these irons be alright for me,, Im a 5 Handicapper and im
14, i hit my irons preety well and my long irons i nice hight, im looking
for clubs for xams and i love cleveland, Do you think they would be
ideal??? Thanks Ryan
These irons are now the most popular iron sold on American golf,
coincidence or influence??

I’m having trouble getting stuck in. Wondering if you could do a video
explaining the best way to get stuck in– then show us your bag and tell me
if I should buy these clubs. I’m 90 years old and drive a cheetah print
golf cart around my community. I normally wear orthopedic moon boots and an
oversize down jacket (orange) during my rounds. Hopefully after you teach
me better stuckinedness you can tell me if I should get the black pearl or
satin chrome. I forgot what I was saying. Where am I?
Mark, it’s time for bloopers video 🙂
Hey Mark would these irons be for a high school golfer? my best round is a
94 and i am looking to improve all the time and i think that these could be
the irons for me but if you have any advice for me i would love it. Thanks
Hey Mark, do you think hitting off the mats v. off the grass affects the
ball’s trajectory, spin, etc.? In other words, I wonder if your opinion of
the clubs you test would differ in any way if you tested them all off the
grass.
not bad. mine are a bit brown now but ive had them for over a year 🙂
I have cg gold series Cleveland irons. There great
these irons kind of remind me of the Taylormade burner 2.0 irons
@forkjuice I have the same question as forkjuice, what’s your advice?
Hey Mark. How about a comparison of CG16 tours and Adams CB3 and Ping i20
irons? Thanks!!
Hey mark great video again,in your opinion are the cg16 tours one of the
easier better players irons to hit?Keep up the good work
good idea
Nice video! How do you think these compare to the previous CG7 tour irons?
Hey Mark what did you think of that “greatest of comebacks” last night eh?
🙂
I recently bought a set of of CG7 black pearls that were also supposed to
have those “zip grooves”. But lo and behold, mine dont have them at all!
Anyone know why?
holy shit i was just looking at these and i looked on your channel for a
review 20 mins ago and you upload it. That is so weird hahaha
Hello, Mark. I was wondering when would be a good time for someone to
switch from clubs for game improvement to clubs for those with a better
handicap. Thanks, and I love the videos, keep them coming!
I really like these irons but I was wondering what launch angle for a 6
iron and 7 iron should be around. So I know where i am at when trying clubs
on a launch monitor??
These clubs are now most popular iron sold at American
Love all of the Cleveland Line.
Hi Mark… cool to see CG videos! How would you compare the GC16T w/ i20 in
terms of forgiveness?
My clubs! xD
Hi Mark – can you please do sth with your twitter account ? It def looks
like took over by some russian spammer. CHANGE YOU PASSWORD and thx for
lots of good stuff
Well Done… Production value gets better every week. Love how you are
editing the sound at impact into the slo-mo shots. Looking forward to CG16
(non-tour), as well as an all-brands no-holds-barred cage match. As always
– Thanks! BTW – I’m sure you are enjoying the moment. Your boys sure put on
a show. I’d like to celebrate a different outcome, but we can both
celebrate great golf!
getting them soon great review 🙂
Please somebody help. I am thinking about getting black irons, but here
they rub off and finish comes off. true?
Saw this set (3-9 + 47* CG16 Wedge) for less than $600CAD at Golf Town in
Canada. Probably one of the best buys I’ve seen.
mark, i think you meant pearl, not peal
how do the black finish irons hold up with use?
@4golfonline good video, I like the slow mo camera.
Thanks Mark – Good video. Just bought the Cleveland’s CG16’s (not the tour
version). Have to say I love them. They are longer and I hit them further
but I think that’s because of the loft is lower per iron than normal. Great
to see what you think of them so please review. Keep up the good video’s
