Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

  1. Brilliant Danny! The butterfly grip you demonstrated in this video, was/has been used by Phil mickleson for many years. And he is not a bad bunker player is he.???

  2. Great video Danny! Excited about trying this technique. Is there a certain distance that I should be hitting the sand away from the ball? Or am I simply sliding the bounce under the ball?

  3. I've been going over my liked videos and I realized that I never commented on this posting. The set up, grip and technique described here completely transformed my bunker play. At first I was successful one shot out of two, which was alresdy a significant improvement. My home course has several deep bunkers, much like the one in the video. This gave me many opportunities to practice. By the end of the season I rarely missed a bunker shot. I went from "fear and trembling" evey time I faced a bunker shot to seeing the shot as an "opportunity to express myself" as Fred Shoemaker would say. Thanks once again.?

  6. Hi Danny, it's me again! Sorry! I normally don't have any bother with bunkers, I played at Troon a fortnight ago and they have builders sand in their bunkers which is deep and you know you need to get it right in taken the ball out with the club at the right distance from the ball, the problem I have here at my home course is that there is not much sand in the bunkers and a lot of clay under the sand, which leads to a lot of frustration for many a golfer at our course, especially when it is a greenside bunker
    could you show us in how to play out of hard compact bunkers like we have here in Scotland as the bunkers are packed down with so much rain!
    I and many other golfers complain of the state of our bunkers, but all we get is that we should not be in there! Pros find bunkers, so what kind of answer was that?

Great video Danny, tried this today and had lots of success. found in the past i couldn't get the loft to work for me and struggled to get up and out – the key for me today was getting the club up high rather than round. once i got that going they were up and out, also found that on harder more compact sand to just swing a tad slower to stop the ball coming out too hot (hope that makes sense).

    Great content and detail in the instruction, just need to sort out the normal Iron swing now and i am good to go ??

  9. this new way of playing bunker shots works great for me, thank you! I was not bad at bunker shots before, but this new way gets the ball a little higher in the air and it stops much quicker. Great video!
