How can you learn to swing a golf club without having to think about too many things?

I woke up to this in my inbox:

“That was the most amazing golf lesson – exactly what I needed. You mention all the time that we should keep the golf swing simple but I never really believed it fully…you have no idea the impact this golf lesson has had on my game. I’m so grateful for you and your time!!”

Whoa! how nice is that…

I absolutely love helping golfers find their golf swings. Getting feedback that they are finding the game so much easier and having much more fun on the golf course is why I do what I do. You see over the years the golf swing has been chopped up and dissected into so many pieces it can sometime feel like it will take forever to learn.

But don’t believe that. This is the old school way.

The new school way is to learn your swing. We are all built differently, different shapes and sizes, different levels of strength and flexibility. Should we all swing it the same way?

Take a look at the the hottest golfers in the world right now. Dustin Johnson, Mathew Wolff, Victor Hofland. They have chosen to adopt the new school way. They have chosen to find a golf swing that works for them rather than fit into a model that someone has designed.

In this weeks golf lesson I give you an amazing golf drill that will truly help you strike the golf ball so much better, hit driver straight…but more importantly it won’t require you to remember a check list of to do’s before every shot. If you have questions like How do I hit a golf ball with an Iron? How can I learn to strike my irons pure every time? How do I stop hitting the ground behind the golf ball? How to hit driver straight?

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumbleI’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

HELLO JACKIE says:

Great lesson! Danny-!

Mike Weill says:

And the hands need to be fairly loose, not a death grip?

Eric Finnie says:

Danny having tried to play this elusive game for over 40 years, I think, through you I am beginning to see the light. Pre shot routine left cheek back, clubhead drop, left cheek back. So much easier. Had a meal in the 90’s with J.J didn't get any golf tips but learned a few conjuring tips. Thanks again, Danny

Richard James says:

Another great video Danny -, brilliant content as always will be incorporating into my range session tomorrow!

Terry Bowen says:

Thanks Danny, great video. Took the "Shotput" feel on backswing and follow through to the range this morning. Fantastic drill. Effortless swing, and no strain on the back, with increase in distance. This video should be watched by all golfers.

Tad Macy says:

Great video! I’m taking it to the practice tee. I swung this way as a kid but lost the ‘feel.’ Maybe it’s not too late to get it back…

Joe West says:

Grip pressure is also a key component of this exercise. If the grip is too tight it stiffens your wrists, forearms, upper arms, and shoulders which will make "letting go" and feeling the swish difficult if not impossible. Relax…your grip that is, and you'll find your arms will follow suit. Great video Danny. Thanks for your dedication.

Bryant Harrison says:

Danny this is great this is what I needed but you need to match this up with another youtuber's video the rotary swing the new video is 3 tour pro consistency secrets you never heard – how to casting and swinging over the top. You should teach your students and viewers that this philosophy also and match it up to what you just taught in this video. I know it's somebody else's philosophy about thinking about the golf swing but that doesn't matter it should be what's going to help all the golfers in the world stopped coming over to top yours on how to relax the body is what I needed cuz I tried the Rotary Swing philosophy but I was too tense! and then when I watched your video and I went and did it I relaxed and did that clockwise CLOCK BEHIND YOU move. AND IT WORKED!!! PLEASE WATCH THAT VIDEO AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

Brian Spencer says:

Half of my golf is played watching you 😆

Brian Spencer says:

Great stuff dan I’m improving all the time

Kaddywompous says:

I watched the whole video, but all I needed to hear was “two turns and a swish”. Lightbulb! Everything is so much freer and smoother now. And fast! I feel unlocked and free of the debilitating checklist of swing thoughts. Maybe I was just ready to hear that phrase. Miracle!

Anthony Corsen says:

I appreciate the simplicity Danny. It helps when I am not having my best game to remember your lessons, so I can reset and keep going.

Paul R says:

After your last video using the shot put idea, I tried using this idea on the course. It does work. I was hitting my drives much further. Next step is using it on my shots in the fairway. Thanks Danny!

Chris Cave says:

Great video. I have problems with not staying over the ball especially with driver. Exaggerated I almost stand up on the down swing causing topped drives especially. Any tips Danny?

Selina spruijt-mak says:

I really like it and learn a lot 🏌🏻‍♀️thanks again Danny 🙏
