Challenge Tour player Liam Robinson gives me a drill that he says would improve every golfer in the world, from top-level tour pros to absolute beginners. And the best part of all? You can do it in your garden.

Went back to watch your videos with Liam last night as I had been struggling with ball striking recently. And low and behold had a flush fest today. This stuff is still gold
How does this work with driver ? Looks like it’s ok for irons 👍 but too steep for the big dig 🤔
This is Great! Every helpful video I've ever seen has one thing in common: keep the shoulders, arms, and wrists soft and everything else will take care of itself.
The real reason the step drill helps is that it forces separation of the pelvis and upper body. Coils you up.
Hi Rob. Really good sessions. I seem to be rotating 45deg to left of target. Is there anything I can do or think about to prevent this? Thanks, Barry
What is it you do or feel with your knee? I completely missed what liam said about it 🤦
I read a book from 1953 by Dr D. A. Murray about the swing and what he said seemed to work for me perfectly – I'm hitting the ball better than ever. His big 'thing' is to concentrate on pulling the left shoulder and top left chest up as hard as possible from the top of the swing. Cue Victor Hovland saying exactly the same – blimey – who'd have thought it! Virtually all of Victor Hovland's explanation of how he's driving the ball is the same as D A Murray's book. Everything DA Murray talks about – everything Victor tries to do – and all Liam's drills and observations – all fit together perfectly.
Now if that's not a cue for a new 30-minute video Rob I don't know what will be!! And don't tell us all you can't get the book – just shop around – it is Dr D A Murray "The Golf Secret" (pull your left shoulder up!) and the video on Victor is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqcvnlcd5ls&list=PL6mHFZXF0YRNm9VEeLCSz3KqOxPArHbpx&index=9&t=31s
This is a great drill. Makes so much sense and can be done at home
this is such a good video rob – would be interesting to have a quick follow-up on this, whether you have used this drill consistently and if it has worked for you.
More like this Rob. These were spot on . And Liams lesson is so innovative and original
Hi, fantastic video. I've tried it with the irons and it has helped. I'm still struggling with the driver, do you do they bunch of towels drill with the driver as well?
I tried this and held on… club went flying 😂
What do you reckon that means in terms of swing / pivot? Why is holding on bad?
The sound of Liam's swing is totally different than yours @30:53 to 31:16.
Liam made it looks so simple and easy.
Thanks for sharing your great lesson with us.

I wish I could have come across this video before summer started. I would have done a lot better in several tournaments if I had. I was doing the knee moving too much thing. Now after watching this video I have much more control and power in my swing. I keep that front knee as still as I can. Good stuff.
Really enjoyed this video
The step with the left foot is supposed to go forward to help move your weight forward, but you actually step back with that foot. Anyway, the step drill has single-highhandedly improved everything in my downswing – body movement/weight transfer, arm movement, strike and ball flight. It's given me a lower trajectory with a soft draw now, whereas before I was coming out of the shot with an over-the-top club path. The step drill, when done correctly (I start with both feet together, then when the club is parallel with the ground in the back swing, I step through with the lead leg – essentially, this forces your body in the transition to briefly move in two different directions simultaneously), is the single greatest golf drill that every club golfer should be doing, in my opinion.
Man, does Liam have a pretty swing or what?
Great stuff!!!
This is awesome. When are you coming back to youtube Rob?!
Rob what’s the situation with the left knee is it keeping it solid or stopping it from swaying ?
How is the swing holding out?
