GOLF SWING TAKEAWAY AND RELEASE FIX

Learn the golf swing takeaway with this simple golf drill. The added bonus is it will also help you to release the golf club properly through impact.

All golf drills require practice but I was surprised at how quickly many of my students could take this to the course.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. Still struggle with this need for the left hand to roll. Not sure if it’s the back issues or what but, I started messing with a baseball grip/overlap grip. This to me looks and feels like everything should allow the right side to come through with relaxed arms and hands without torque on the fusion in the spine. No loss of distance and more accurate.

  2. All my life I’ve played with stiff wrist and arms. About a month ago I began learning that right hand release. But after hitting a few balls I fall back to my old ways. Love these drills to build actual muscle memory cause I have felt the compression and distance when releasing properly while relaxed. It’s amazing to watch the ball fly with little effort and the back thanks me for it. I’m fused in low lumbar, prosthetic right leg and fused subtalar joint left foot. This video is crucial to my success of golf and enjoyment

  3. Another great video Danny, it’s a shame you’re so far away, (or I am, I’m in Cornwall lol) as I would certainly be having some lessons. Thanks again for the vids. Melissa

  4. I started using your videos to enforce what I'm teaching my lad.. Just started golf a month ago.
Result: He finds your explanation and instruction intuitive. And. I'm learning too!
    Cheers!

  5. Great video Danny! Looks like the softness is something I have been completely overlooking. Presumably doing this automatically keeps the shaft and hands ahead of clubhead by impact? Thanks Ian. Inverness

  6. What a good and simple drill. I'm having problems with the takeaway takin it too much inside the corner and resulting in a poor and inconsistent golf shot and sometimes hitting the dreadful shank. Hope this drill helps. Thanks!

  7. Hey Danny. Once again a great video. Went out yesterday to practice all i had in my head was 'Throw the Ball Throw the Ball' and it worked for the driver and 3 wood. Thanks again
    Damian

  8. Hiya Danny
    Great lesson as always !
I was wondering if i can book a lesson with you with a view to book a block of lessons to sort out my game
    Many thanks.

  9. Wow. Watched couple of your videos, practiced the drills, took it to the course and shot a 94, first time I broke 100, normally I wouldn't shoot under 110 due to duff shots, shot 44 on front nine no duffs, until the 15th, thank you for your instruction and bringing the joy back.
