Clearly Qi10 is a "game improvement" head for maybe a slicer even. 430 10K is an odd duck, all that forgiveness that only hits knuckle fades.
As a die hard Taylormade guy they haven’t made a good driver since the SIM2. Ping is on a role.
I didnt realize the gc quad could give correct numbers when hitting so far off center from the unit. THis is my takeaway from this video. very interesting.
The Qi10 Max is amazing! Best driver I've ever hit at 46 yrs old been playing since age 10. You gotta use a Low Spin ball. The Titleist AVX, Taylor Made TP5x or the Callaway Supersoft are 3 low spin balls that help negate the extra spin it gives ya. That said the carry is identical to the Qi10 & LS. The Max might lose 5-10 yds of roll though, but that is an easy price to pay to keep it in the fairway imo. The Sim 2 Max was my favorite driver until I hit the Qi10 Max. I also tried the LS Qi10, Qi10, Qi35 Max, Qi35,Cobra Darkspeed Max, PING G430 Max, G440 Max & Callaway Paradym Ai, Elyte. After hitting all of these I bought the Qi10 Max.
I got the G430 and 10 1/2° loft and I wish I would’ve went for the nine.
I had the Qi10 max and i switch to ping gained 40yard on my drive and fixed my slice.
Almost every one of the ones you hit with the Ping consistently in the same spot and the QI 10 were all over the place
I got the regular non 10k 430 max and I was starting to worry because I set the shaft exactly how I had my 425 max set up and EVERYTHING was going right….I just switched it exactly backwards with the writing on the bottom of the shaft…and bingo ….. now I gotta REALLY TRY to get it to go right….and it barely goes either way as it pretty much goes straight like a laser now…I love the g max series of ping drivers …I also use a ping kushin 4 putter which is by far the best one I have ever had …. Ping clubs save me a LOT of strokes and lost balls … LOL…
It’s all personal preference. I don’t like the turbulators on the Ping. Me being a geezer the slight draw bias is a good thing with the Q10 Max. I need any extra yards I can get.
