A properly sequenced golf swing requires you to take the golf club away smoothly, correctly transition from the backswing to the downswing, and release the club with power in the follow through.

In this golf lesson, PGA pro Kerrod Gray and Chris Mayson demonstrate how to improve your swing sequence by using the ground to improve the way your body moves post impact. Use this simple drill to achieve the perfect finishing position.

🚩 What aspect of your game do you feel needs the most improvement?

@richardkentfrost982 says:

Golf sequence.
Backswing: Turn left shoulder behind ball.
Transition: push down on left foot keeping back turned / closed
Downswing: Rotate left hip to impact

@Banjograss says:

holy smokes! I had a great coach put me onto this line of thinking about my swing. Came here for a hope that it would touch on what Don said (shoutout Don), found the literal perfect drill in digestible, concise, well shot video. Cheers!

@asarkiro says:

The drill with the bump to the left whilst at the top of the backswing, and then why you are doing it, which is to fling ourselves forward and around, was the eureka moment for me. I never understood the importance and role of the hips. Now I know it is the push off the right to move to the left, as we are throwing something, which naturally moves the hips more due to the force of the turn from the right.

Haha, Kerrod said doodoo at 4:45 mark. Silly!

@michaelthagard8847 says:

@kerrod how can I shift to my front foot without sliding my head forward?

@Chris-rs4so says:

Excellent video, I’m 11 months late

@BenPhilips1 says:

This 6 minute video fixed what hours of lessons could not πŸ‘πŸΌ

@EdwardEarl says:

This is golden

@jeffpaul606 says:

This is a video. It does a great job explaining how to shift my weight instead of just bumping my hips out.

@mortenfredstie7859 says:

Love it. Been having some trouble with the weightshift. Will be implementing this!

@marklucey1 says:

Thanks guys. I find it a real struggle, after floating down into my lead leg, back to the target, to get back around to hitting the ball and I cannot understand why?? I often really race the club back and away around to the ball leading to poor contact etc. Any ideas why (I know you'd really need to see my swing to comment accurately, but some general ideas)?

@devinknapp4949 says:

How does the head move during all of this body movement? I’ve always understood to keep the head β€˜quiet’ and still

@al1356 says:

How many times would you need to do the drill before getting the flow gents? Some great videos lately πŸ‘

@giocowie8009 says:

Posting in a balanced pose after contact is such a struggle and so frustrating. Driver distance is relatively good, but iron distance is less than optimal. I would so spend the money for lessons from a topped notched instructor like yourself, but don’t know of any in the central valley of California. If you know of anyone, please let me know. Thank you so much for the awesome videos, keep them coming.

Rotation/stop stalling

@ronharrington8659 says:

Excellent drill guys.
