I'm not getting any younger, but for about 5 years now I have been struggling bad with the club bottoming out about 1-3 inches behind where I set up. Moving the ball back in my stance, the contact, the flight is not what I'm looking for and it is not consistent. Ideally I just need to bottom out about 1- 3 inches further forward then where I set up rather than the other way around. I'm actually waiting for the range to open this spring to work on firing my lower body first in the down swing as I'm pretty sure my hands and arms over the years are starting to win the race to the ball.

basically… u want your hips to move back, and turn, then forward and turn, while your upper body maintains the same straight up and down stance, correct? im not sure how else i can say it, but to me it makes sense like that… but i guess i kinda already do that anyways.. theres so much to know about golf swings, its so hard to become scratch… but i guess i gotta do what i have to right?
