This weeks golf tip gives you a golf drill that will help you strike your irons and woods. You get a sneak peak into one of my recent golf lessons where I show you the results of before and after.

In the golf lesson you will see a poor impact position with no compression, early extension, and even a chicken wing. Have a look what happens when John uses this simple golf drill.

If you like the training give it a thumbs up and if you haven't already consider subscribing here:

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website ( I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

David L says:

This drill has helped me hit my irons much better. I am just wondering how to develop this drill and work it gradually into a fuller sort of swing, perhaps finishing a bit higher ‘a la’ Tommy Fleetwood. I’m also interested in how you student has gone with it over the longer term. Would love to hear your thoughts if you have a mind. Perhaps it could be a subject for another one of your excellent video lessons!

oskarmac14 says:

Thank you! Now this tip makes sense! I’m off to the range to implement, hopefully.

anderman1970 says:

Fantastic video Danny, will definitely be giving this drill a go.

Michael Pope says:

Great video!!! This helps me to stay connected. Thanks

Joe says:

Dang! This is exactly what I need. Thank U ?

Jan Mulder says:

A brilliant lesson again! Just what I needed! Thanks a lot, Danny, your're the best!

Neil Marshall says:

Brilliant and simply explained

Blue Sky Flyer says:

Brilliant! My follow through was similar to John's for the same reason. I too have been searching for the answer to my bent arms. You're doing some good work here Danny!

davidstevan1 says:

Hi Danny
At 1:55 you talk about bringing the “club around the corner”. With the club head tracking out toward the ball how do you guard against shanking? Did your pupil tend to shank with his old swing?

Shaun Jayes says:

I had found your actual reverse engineer video sometime ago, and it was a like a miracle for me.
It cured my “chicken wing” in literally 5 swings. I honestly still can’t believe how easy it was.
Thanks so much for this channel, you’re doing God’s work!

gtflyer says:

Just saw this, and I did subscribe. Me..70 yrs old, and still struggling with my irons. This drill, completely turned my swing around..I made better contact, and the ball went almost as far with a 1/2 swing, as it did with my old full swing. Thanks Danny.

Dexter Haven says:

It's remarkable how this instructor zeroes in on the problems and areas of confusion most of us have.

Adam Jackson says:

This was brilliant! I think something really clicked for me. I loved the bit about educating the body and going slow. Don't rush the drill. Good stuff.

Robert Plunkett says:

Danny what kind of pre shot routine would you suggest without taking too much time?

Robert Plunkett says:

I was having the same problems. I tried Danny’s ideas and it worked! Hitting longer and more solid shots!! Excited to be playing again!

Eric D says:

I've been working on transition for literal years, trying to shallow the club and rotate through. And it's paid iffy, but I've been so focused on the backswing and transition that my release has gotten clumsy. I can't discount all that work I've done on transition and it no doubt is part of the reason why, but I have to say this drill was immediately transformative for me. Like nothing I've ever taken to the range before. Thank you!

Hi man, another beauty sample of share wisdom , avoiding keeping secrets to make students everlast depending on instructors with slow game improvement . Keep going this way, you already been in the path of G.O.A.T bunch of golf instructors industry, The other part will depend on marketing and a little bit of luck..

Frank chiew says:

Danny you definitely a genius!
Love the drills!keep it coming!

crayh5o says:

This does not seem to create forward shaft lean at impact for me. I seem to have my hands even with the ball at impact. Any help would be appreciated.

Don FromCanada says:

Great video as I see the arm extension through impact change for your student. This non extension through impact is one of my main faults.

I am currently working on it as it’s winter here so this drill will fit perfect for my basement practice. But…..Is it possible to get a down the line view of this drill. I’d love to see the move from that angle.

Thanks so much…love all your videos….very well explained with no too much technical wording which sometimes masks the explanation. Keep it up!

bill Chapman says:

Danny, great video, but wondering if you can on some occasions show some vids of working with your clients.
