This channel focusses on the golf swing and discussing in detail about the areas of the golf swing that most amateurs get wrong. Each how to video explains everything a golfer needs to know so they can improve their golf game and start lowering their scores, so wheter your trying to break 100, break 90, break 80 or break 70 then this channel will help you acheieve everything you want.
I don't rely on many if any training aids with my coaching as I beleive that the change will happen once you understand what it is your really trying to do with your golf swing and once your understanding improves then you will start to make the correct swing change, I will occasionally offer drills to do as this can often improve your feel verus perception battle and help aid your cause.
I love giving golf tips however I really enjoy helping golfers with their game and love the positive feedback about golfers who I have helped with their ball striking or driving or whatever so if you like golf tips then you should subscribe.
I'll always try to put my swing on slow motion on the camera howver this is sometimes difficult due to the set up of my driving range and I'm often looking for privacy but I agree that seeing a Professional swing in slow motion can help golfers develop.
I do use the term perfect golf swing, not because there is a perfect golf swing or perfect backswing etc however I like to discuss options in all my videos and sgtrongly beleive there are 5 or 6 things we have to do in the golf swing but there are options for golfers to choose what they want to do which is why I feel im qualified to discuss the perfect golf swing as much as anybody else.
The areas I disucss in the golf swing are hip rotation, swing plane, upper body movements, how to gain speed in your golf swing, how to use the driver, all golf swing basics, golf swing for seniors, golf swing for irons, the elbow positions and whats the best way to swing a golf club and much more.
I also do alot of club reviews with Midlands Golf and specially Ronnie and coach at Four Ashes and a friend who helps me as I'm not the most technical person when it comes to club equipment, but we talk about what are the best golf clubs, golf bags, golf balls and even golf trollys. Everyone wants to know whats the best golf club and especailly the best driver which is why we test all of the clubs and give our opinion on what the best golf clubs are.
We talk about the popular tournaments upcoming especailly the masters as this is a favourite for every golfer.
We do all of this from our happy home Four Ashes Golf Centre.

I find the feeling of leading with a flat left wrist and fist as the pelvis rotates delivers the most accurate ball strike and finish. Consciously dropping down with a flat left wrist seems to activate my lower body to swing through on plane. Am I explaining the correct mechanics correctly? Please comment Russell.
Stupid game is hard lol
Another magic video ~ I have gained more information with your channel that is the core (pun intended) of golf swing . I have definitely gained the compression that was never their before ie bottom 3 grooves getting used instead of the one’s above on the blade face. Golfing /hacking/chunking for 25years plus and it is great to see new drills and ideas to fix problems. Many thanks from an ex flipper ( it’s been hard to change) but some of your drills stopped me giving up trying to change as little drills gave me a little success… great work Russell – ??
Thanks again Russell. I can't find your video on the "windmill drill". Is it titled under a different name?
Again, superb cause and effect outcomes!
I’ve always over pressed at impact with early hip turn and now it’s so hard to rotate my hands/firearms at impact! Any suggestions Russell?
Talk too much instead of demonstration
Always best to have lots of actual shots/swings/contacts to demo what should be practiced/done with golf clubs … with slo-mo's and voice overlays … multiple shots to demonstrate what words attempt to explain. Lots of people have problems with irons and concrete demos of same … how to hit a ball correctly … definitely will help
Played a round of golf today and man is it frustrating ? Russ, let me know when you visit Queensland Australia so I can book a session with you. If only ??
I watched this video, then immediately picked up a club, went out back, and did a few swings. I immediately felt what you talked about in the video: My hips were moving toward the ball in my downswing, I was standing up to create room, and flipping my hands in an attempt to get everything back on plane. I didn't realize I was doing this–I couldn't feel it–until you described it in this video. Thank you, again.
Yet again another detailed and beneficial video Russell just hope when I put all your videos together my jigsaw will be complete just need to put them all into practice cheers ?️?️????
Thanks again Russell, I’ve been watching since 600 subscribers ! Always love the talk about the role the hips play in the swing.
I’ve always suffered from early extension. Your lessons have helped me feel compression of the golf ball. Nobody isolates and talks about the hips like you do because I think from your teaching experience you see that it’s one of our biggest problems in the swing.
This is the instruction I needed (4:20–5:25). For the longest time I felt like something was fundamentally wrong with my swing but I didn't know what. I felt like it was one key move keeping me from consistency. I did know ( from a golftech lesson) that I was fighting early extension, but I didn't know how to combat it. This video has given me that "one" thing I was not doing. Thank you so very much!!
That was a super gr8 video and perfect explanation of how hip extension and flippy works together, I also liked that explanation of the forearm and wrist bow…just all great stuff, I appreciate this because I have never heard it explained like that and m making brain connections which is awesome! Thanks Russ!
Great stuff as usual Russ
Excellent breakdown of the steps and why we get stuck on the downswing. Thank you.
I am not sure how you move the pelvis forward to open up space. Can you provide a key thought or feel on how to achieve that?
i keep squashing the top of the middle finger on the left on the downswing wud u know why i do this russle great videos
Another good one Russell but I am a bit confused as I would have thought that early rotation of the left forearm would counter the effect of trying to retain lag by keeping the inside of the right forearm pointing to the sky?
Hi Russell. This video described me to a tee.
Thanks for being the teacher I've been looking for, these videos are excellent.
Hey Russell you've some good videos here. You really take the time to explain your thoughts rather than offering quick and easy fixes. Early hip extension has plagued me for 30 years or so. I just cannot seem to play without it although I'm always trying things out on the range. Judging from the videos of yours that I've seen it seems you feel it's the one element you have to get right if you want to maximise your talent. Probably too late me, but I'll be working on it again tomorrow:0 Thanks!
It's quite easy to get the hands leading at impact by using a training club with a bent shaft. In fact, it's so easy that one doesn't even have to think about it…….you just automatically do it. The problem is transferring that feeling to your regular straight shaft clubs. Now, after 3 months of daily work, I've done it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You just explained what I have been fighting in my swing for the last 8 years.
the more I watch your videos the more I learn. ive been putting this into practice down the range and on the course and the results speak for themselves. hitting powerful straight drives rather than power fades/slice 🙂
