In this video I test each of the 5 stock driver shaft options from Ping that they offer in their G430 range of Drivers……G430 Max, G430 SFT & G430 LST. Golf shafts are increasing in options and can make the buying process for golfers complicated and sometimes confusing! This run through of hitting each of the driver shafts I provide details on the feel and the characteristics of each shaft along with TrackMan numbers of their performance.

Just got fitted for a g430 max 10k. I thought I would go into the fitting and love the hazardous 50 stiff but it felt way too light for the head and the most stable was by far the black tour shaft
That tour chrome shaft is underrated
It’s weird how you say some shafts don’t “suit” you but the numbers say it does.
tour chrome is the most goodlooking shaft!
I’m currently using the stock Alta cb 55 stiff find I’m hitting more hooks then usual.. I’m 14 handicap swing speed can be anywhere from 88 to 98 lol what do u recommend
Hitting sound is still awful like g425
11-20-2024 just got fitted for the G430 Max and ended up with the Tour 2.0 regular flex shaft. Waiting for it to be delivered. Hit the Toir shaft better than the CB regular shaft by 10 yards. It does make a difference. First fitting I’ve ever had. Bought all my other clubs of the rack. The fitting at golf Galaxy was $70 and they put it towards the new club. Never felt good about paying a $150 for a fitting just in case I hit my current driver better than a new one and then I was out $150.
I came here because I wanted to know if others are having the same level of success with the Alta CB that I am. I've been using Graphite Design shafts for years, and I am blown away by how good this stock shaft performs.
Not helpful
Pls do a overview of the non-stock shafts for newbies.
I personally believe that alot of male golfers should be using the Chrome 2.0 in stiff with a 9 or 10.5. I don't think many players have actually tried it, and don't get me wrong, everything is subjective based off your swinging club speed and attack angle, but it's definitely a shaft worth checking out for many players. That gives you the option to go down to 9.0 which for majority of players would be about as low as they can handle. Don't give me wrong many players think for some reason the lower the degree the better the player you are, when in reality many PGA tour players use 10.5. Ping makes really good stock shafts. People really should look into getting a club fitting first and foremost if you're going to spend all this money on the driver. Don't feel like you have to go with a 9° also. If you're a mid handicapper, and of course depending on your swing, a 10.5 is the sweet spot allows you to go down to a 9 if your swing changes over time and can bump it up if you get slower the older you get. Just my two cents.
I just took advantage of the discount on the G430 Max and they put the Kai’li White 60 on there. Night and day in comparison to my last driver. Went from 265 yd average to a 290 yd average. All because I got fitted and they told me to move up from a stiff shaft to x stiff.
I’m using the chrome tour 2.0 stiff in my Ping G430 Max 10k. The feel is just incredible and the numbers match the feel
I was NEVER given the other shaft options. I got ripped off but only paid $399 brand new stock CB staft
Great video!
Just been fitted today for the 430max 10k with the tour black xs shaft sooo much different to the current driver g400 lst stiff. 15hcp and definitely felt and seen the difference.
Is the Ping Tour Shaft black 2.0 counterbalanced?
If you need a stiffer shaft the tour black or kai’li would probably suit better. For me the chrome felt a bit dead. Played the Hzrdus before in a TM driver but it was very high launching
I was going to get fitted for a shaft, but think I will just go with a stock shaft after seeing this. (Still ‘’fitted’’ so to speak, just using the right stock shaft) I am back after 13 years without playing, so 1 out of 10 is all I am striking ok-ish. Doubt a better quality shaft will make any difference to someone like me. Thanks for this video, very informative
Id love to see that dispersion after you remove that huge left miss you called "user error". That would be TIGHT!
I thought SR is a flex between S and R. Not a Soft Regular. Or are the Japanese specs different.
I've always liked the factory Alta offerings. Nice with smooth tempo. Regarding spin, I always keep the face of my driver protected from corrosion with a light layer of chap stick or other lubricant.
Great video. Extremely informative. I'm going to get fitted for this driver and now feel much more informed. Thanks
Had a fitting today,TM Q10 or g430max. g430 Max was unbelievable, got it with the standard flex with tour shaft!
I upgraded from the G425 with the AltaCB last year to the G430 with the tour Chrome X. Initially it did feel more stable, but I didn't feel like I was getting whip I was used to. I've switched to the tour Black S, and that seems better, but I'm still not sold. I ended up changing the movable weight on the back of the club adding 3 grams over stock and that has proved beneficial, but now I'm not getting the launch angle and height I was seeing. Good point on shaft length and stability though, as I've always tended to prefer the longer for speed but hadn't considered the impact on stability. Think after watching this and now having hit the G430 1000's of times, I might start over at how I got it stock and see how it feels. My distances have been pretty consistent so working on feel and dispersion / control. Thans for sharing. Good stuff.
did u try it without the wt in the back? peeps saying much better results
Hi there. I have the Red Smoke stiff but it's paired with the G430 LST. Great results in lowering the spin that you got with the G430 Max. Great review, as usual. Thanks!
I just had a fitting and was put in the Tour Chome stiff. It performed the best and felt the best for me.
I’ve paid for 3 x 200 dollar fittings at precision golf and all fitters disagreed and aggressively hated on one another’s opinions. I’ve learned more from this video than their fittings.
