This video is about how to Pitch Your Golf Ball Closer to the hole. Danny Maude tackles two killer moves that if removed will dramatically improve your strike and distance control.

Not only do you get the two strategies but he shows you exactly how you should practice them so that they stick.

3 Key Points

1. Check how much your centre of gravity (balance in the golf swing) moves around

2. Less wrists lead to more consistent strikes. Practice stopping on the backswing and then on the follow through so you can measure your progress

3. Create width in the swing by keeping your arms extended out away from body but still with biceps connected to chest

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Rugbymad Curls says:

Hi Danny. Thanks for all of your vids. Watched this one & put it into practice on the course and had one of my lowest rounds ever due to better chipping technique.

Don Decker says:

Danny, when you talk about shorter pitch, it looks like you are using more of a putting stroke. I used this last year which eliminated 1 stroke per hole and much more consistency. In putting I use a horizontal saw and I also use this grip when pitching withing 20 yards from the green. What do you think?

pps2502 says:

I hope Danny make vdo clip full swing drill for 60 years old, thanks.

starflash08 says:

nice vid Danny, myself im always pulling my chip shots, my mates do as well, we have to aim 5 to 10 deg right of target, we know this is not right, any suggestions

Brian Gaitens says:

Hi Danny, really like your video on pitching and stopping at back swing, I'm having problems with short chips 10-20 yards, hitting fat and not fololowing through, can i use the same technique? stopping on back swing then following through like you showed in video? P.S. really like your videos & teaching you really simplify everything and make it easier to understand. Thank you Brian

Fergal Twomey says:

I love these videos, they're certainly helping. However, I still hit the ball thin and am pretty sure I'm standing up or coming up out of my posture before I hit the ball. Do you have any drills to help with that ?

sachin srivastava says:

sir which golf grip is best ?
I use 10 finger grip.

Mike Fisher says:

Hi Danny. Can this simple pitching motion be used for the full swing simply by adding more turn and wrist hinge? Appreciate your videos a lot! Thanks.

Mike Schaefer says:

Masterful teaching here and on all of your tutorials Danny!  From one "physical educator" to another.  Well done.

Ralph G says:

Hi. What about doing this in thick rough? My club usually gets stuck in the grass. The shallow attack looks like it may be a problem. Thanks Ralpg G.

speedwayman100 says:

you're far enough away to call it a pitch shot so i would think for pitching you'd wanna hinge your wrists a bit no?

Adrian McCabe says:

Just spent an hour working on this and whilst I don't have a putting green to hit to I have found that I can now maintain and land the ball a lot more consistently on a pre-determined spot … thanks, great video's, would like to see more of the ball hitting the green and seeing it bite ….

Christopher Shaw says:

Great video Danny, believe you are one of the best coaches on YT. Where shall I setup the ball on my chipping and how do I position my hands in terms of shaft lean? Chris

Robert Beshar says:

subystu says:

Hi Danny, I'm new to your lessons and think your teaching is just great! What I would like some help with is hitting the ball above and below your feet.

Great video, Danny. How do you control the distance? Positioning at 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 o’clock positioning?
