TaylorMade P790 Irons Review

Taylormade P790 Irons

The Taylormade P790 Iron fits at the end of the Taylormade P700 Series and offers golfers forgiveness with a forged feel – thanks to the inclusion of a new Speed Foam installed inside the club head.

The P790 Irons are in the same family as the Taylormade P730 Irons, Taylormade P750 Irons, and the Taylormade P770. Which offer 4 different stages of golfing requirements and ability.

The Taylormade P730 Irons – The smallest cavity with maximum workability
The Taylormade P750 Irons – Small split cavity for forgiveness and control
The Taylormade P770 Irons – Medium sized cavity for more forgiveness
The Taylormade P790 Irons – Large cavity for a distance, better players iron

  1. 203 7 iron to 220 4 iron doesn't seem like a great gap….and i don't think you are the first reviewer to find this….think the TMB's look like a much better option in this kind of range

  2. Everyone else that has tested these has noticed a big drop off in spin, good to see that at a high swing speed the drop off is not too bad. Would love these in 3, 4 and 5 iron blended with a set of 770's, although the lofts would create an issue

  3. Great review, nice that you left the not so perfect shots in, that's the way I play. Gives me a more realistic reference….Will you come back with them again? I watch your reviews a lot, "You crack me up."

  4. Great video Alex, I love the idea of an iron filled with candy floss, they will provide not only great feel and forgiveness but a nice mid-round snack as well. Very clever Taylormade. Would love to see these up against the MMC MP 18's in a comp video. Keep up the good work

  5. Thanks for the review. Two questions. When will they be available for sale in Aust? Could the 4 & 3 irons be blended with a set of P770 irons (p-5) or are the differences in loft too great? I note your comment that the lofts are similar to the M1s which i understand are 2-3 degrees stronger than the P770s. Thanks

  6. Classy promo editing at the start , taking it up a notch, love ya work !! don't know about the irons, but i' not a TM fan and um ….speed foam !?! now Ive heard everything ; /
