It has no protection against the shank, but neither does my neighbour 3 houses away, oops i've said to much already ????, it looks fantastic though.
It's really nice. Just think its a bit pricey. It costs similar to the Takomo 101 irons. If I could ,I would buy it, after I received my Takomo's of course.
