I am 76 and I recently got fitted for a driver. I was interested in testing the Callaway Elite X and the Taylormade i35 Max. I chose the Taylormade with a senior shaft because I got ten extra yards and a very similar dispersion pattern. I also prefer the looks of the Taylormade.
Irrelevant test, you said yourself they would all be too spiny for the tester at his speed. To give a true reflection they should be tested at average speed around 90 MPH and with the Core shaft.
This is pathetic ppp(poor Pish performance)
Hi have a bit of a ‘right’ going on at the moment, I fancy a go on the elyte x tbh . Had a go with a fairway and reg draw shape was awesome
Just got fitted for the Cobra Max D. It was by far the best driver for me. The only other driver that came close was my current gamer Paradym X, but the Cobra averaged 10 yds longer and 10 yds straighter (left).
Good watch. And while it wasn’t part of your test, Your comment about the Elyte Core being fade biased matches exactly what ive seen on course in a couple weeks of testing.
Put the ZXi Core in a week ago and had a very consistent driving round and it was very straight.
This week hit the G440 Max from our fitting cart on the range and couldn’t believe the great sound from it as well as a very straight flight.
But i think i’ll take the 440 SFT on course tomorrow to see how it does.
Would have loved to see Tom’s numbers with it in the proper head for him.
What are your thoughts on the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond MAX, seems like best of both worlds by combining Low spin head and max forgiveness. Something similar to Ping 10K but in the new Elyte lineup that is doing well.
What difference in spin would a 9deg head make approx? I am one of the target market who plays a G425SFT and i am looking to upgrade this year. It has been fantastic for me but I crave a little more distance (90mph club head speed). The Elyte X looks nice though my starting point will be G440 Max or SFT
Would you please do the same test for anti hook drivers?
Thank you for all you do. The Ping’s distance seems to be affected by excess spin.
