With the guidance of Head PGA Pro Guy Wills using his GC2 launch monitor on the Par 5 6th hole at Fulford Golf Club, Paul checks out the accuracy, length, launch angles and spin rates of these 3 highly desirable Drivers.

I’d like to see you hit the callaway fresh, I’m so tempted but think the wife would kill me 😅
I play the PXG Gen 5 driver. Very forgiving, I had to buy additional heavier weights for the front 2 ports and went down in loft. Hitting spin of around 2200 now. Very happy. You need to spend time with a driver and play around with it in my opinion.
Good man, I’m so similar game to you and hcp. But fitter refused point blank to offer me the LST. Insisted on the max version on a regular shaft with average 3750 spin. Nonsense!!! One doesn’t need tour level speed for LST heads. You proved it a bit.

Are they really bothered how a pro hits it?
I currently play the pxg gen 5 which I got on a good deal for £250 and for the time ive had it i have really enjoyed it, i love the look and shaping of it but when I got fitted the the callaway I saw some really good gains. Swapping between both the pxg and the callaway during the fitting at the same swing speed i was seeing 4-5mph better ball speed … So I've gone an ordered one
Interesting episode tonight, Paul. How do you feel about the PXG spin rate given Guy's comments about desired spin? Especially knowing that you were fitted into the PXG. Were you spinning it less during the fitting? With the £500+ price tag, the performance gains would need to be huge for me to justify it. Good luck with the new big dog when it arrives 😉
