Mixed opinion of them. Caddie feature works occasionally but unreliable. Club suggestion is often wrong. Works on distance when clearly doesn’t know your lie or your consistency. It will recommend a 3wood when im in the rough behind a tree!!
Only use really is it will give u the distance allowing for wind, & slope. It doesn’t show distances to obstacles so isn’t a true golf app. Also because of the need to constantly update putts etc or missed shots you are distracted from the game. Non of the distances it suggests with each club are the distances i knew anyway. A proper golf watch is more useful
Just bought mine can't wait
Yearly fee is way too much
Is it worth spending the 155.00 a year subscription? Especially if you don't play the entire year?
One day, golf club pro shops will have all daily pin positions sync to leading devices. Am I looking ahead so far into the future, given tech I dont believe so. Just depends how forward thinking golf clubs become. Al Edinburgh
two questions: they have a package with their grips. Is there any advantage to this? 2. can you use this on the driving range to track shot distances?
I love the concept of Arccos and was happy playing for it, but in the scenario you describe—Link with Apple Watch, I was getting inconsistent results.
I'd update my score (putts, penalties etc.) on my watch while using the link for tracking but when I pressed "finish round" the data on my phone would not match what I'd entered (and checked) on my watch.
I contacted Arccos support and they told me that the usage scenario isn't supported, and basically the extra watch information was ignored. I had to pick either tracking with Link, and then only use my phone for entering shots. (Watch can still be used for distances) or use the Watch for shot tracking.
I found this pretty disappointing as when using my Watch, I can only just about get 9 holes out of the battery—that was the whole point of the Link. So I cancelled my subscription 🙁
I'd love for them to change this as I'd be happy to pay the subscription if it actually worked.
What apple watch is everyone using? I have the SE and the battery doenst last a long full round. Was thinking of grabbing a ( but want to make sure it can get through around. Thanks
Tried it for several years and gave up as it missed too many shots. Pity as the stats and analysis are class leading. I would go back if I could get the same type of tags that shot scope and the old Game Golf system used where you tap the end of the club on a sensor.
I just get a fit and a brand new golf set lamkin mid syze grip. Can I fit the sensors on those grip?
I thank arccos is great. I feel it along with my practice has gotten me from a 17.4 to a 12.3hcp. I can see where I need to improve and I have accurate distance that I hit from real life play. The subscription is no big deal to me.
I have the:
-Gen 3 smoke sensor
-Link
-Apple Watch 9
I open the app on the phone, track shots with link, and use my Apple Watch that mirrors the phone (turn gps of on the watch app so it doesn’t kill your battery). One round of golf will take 20-25% battery on the series 9. I think this is the perfect set up
Good for Mark sponsored or not he has put his time into YouTube and it comes down to you deciding if you buy this system or not. I will continue to use this for years.
Only bummer I bought the link then a month later the link pro came out.
Thanks for the discount code! love from AUS
I just got these for Father’s Day. I was pretty excited until I saw the monthly fee. It’s just too expensive. I don’t mind paying around $5/month. But if it’s going to be $13/month, you should almost give the sensors away.
Did not know about the yearly fee..ugh
so, looking at the shot tracking only and not the GPS, do you need to place the pin positions on the course via the phone 'in play'?
Also, do you need to start and stop on each hole or does it do this automatically?
My views having just finished the 45 free trail period.
ARCCOS is optimised for different platforms. As an android user the functionality is good on my google 4 phone. When I go on to my pc to edit the round (which should be seen as a feature not a bug) If I use the firefox browser there is different functionality to if I use a google chrome login. (probably the same for Microsoft edge too but…nope!)
The responses I have had from the Across helpdesk have been quite good. It was mixing up my 56 degree wedge and my 3 wood for some reason (not user error) but they seem to be a bit limited on fixes when the map goes wrong. (my course is quite new) On the whole it is not perfect, but perfect is the enemy of done and ARCCOS gets the job done. My phone goes in the lead pocket and I don't touch it all round. I'd say it captures nearly all shots but putting is a bit of an issue but that is probably becasue I don't get my phone out around the greens. I'm just about to reach round ten in my 45 day trial so my stats are a bit screwy but they will even out after a few more rounds and that activates the caddy mode.
The stats on PC are excellent. I'm really enjoying the new dashboard. The data might batter your ego a bit, but it is accurate and the insight is great to show your pro. One thing that I found frustrating as I got the kit in late february so I'm bumping 7 irons from around the green and from 80 yards out into three club winds. So my 7 iron yardage average is all messd up. Same for feel shots in wild weather conditions in the UK winter and early spring. with so few rounds it the data averages can't be smoothed out so stick with it.
If you want to improve ARCCOS will tell you where your weaknesses (and it won't be kind!) are and if you show this to your pro they can addit to your lesson plan and you will get better.
Finally the subscription model is mad. $155 annual in one hit is mental. I'm sure it commits people to the app etc but that's not great and most people don't play in the winter so there's probably 3 months of missed usage that you pay for anyway.
This one is very specific: Knowing how we have already struggled getting the PGA to measure our new course. My course is relatively new (six years old) and we have a nother 9 holes being built. The app clearly relies on google maps overlay so I can tell you that we will not be able to use it on the whole of my course until the google chopper comes round the next summer and photograhs the new section of my course.
18 birdies button ????????
Using the phone that much on the course totally defeats the purpose of getting out and playing. You should just stay home and play video games.
I have just DUMPED Arccos, after having been a loyal customer of the system since its creation.
As of this past Sunday, Matrch 3, 2024, an paid subscription is now REQUIRED to use the Arccos club sensors, even if you do not wish to use the "Caddie" features, and only wish to track your individual shots. At first a subscription for the additional features was optional, but overnight it became mandatory, at $12.99 USD per month. It was AWFULLY nice of Arccos to make this change AFTER releasing their latest Arccos Pro Link, which I purchased at $225 USD, that allows the user to not have to wear their smartphone while playing, wasn't it?
Tempted to get a watch or link. Just so I can play music on my Bluetooth speaker
