For this Fitness Friday, Dustin Johnson's trainer, Joey Diovisalvi, has created a compound exercise that will get you to move like DJ at the top of the swing and help you hit it further.

Let's talk golf and fitness.
Welcome to Fitness Friday, and I've got a tip for you today
that's going to address three things
that are important to work on to get better
at hitting the ball further, with more power and stability.
I'm going to grab my loop.
So, any tubing will do, just put it down
around the bottom of your ankles, and step in.
Once you've done that, grab yourself a driver,
and then let's get to work.
So, let's talk about why we're doing it and why it matters.
One of the things that I have noticed
over years and years of questions being asked me,
Coach, how do I get a better ability to feel transition?
You start in the middle, the center of gravity,
anatomical neutral.
It's the human body in the strongest position.
What I like about that is it creates activation and feel.
Your brain sends a signal to the rest of your body.
Okay, so let's get your body in the game.
Take the driver and put it up on your collar bone, okay?
Bring your hands and cross them at the top,
and then put your feet together.
Flex your knees, and it's gonna be really simple.
Get with me, and let's get to work.
Here we go.
We're gonna take a big step right.
That's a power step.
And what I want you to notice is this tubing
creates resistance, and it creates brain activity.
Your brain now is saying, I've gotta step
with a lot more power and energy.
And then place your foot on the ground.
Your leg should be in a flexed position.
Let me quickly show it to you from the side,
because that's important.
So here's the flex position.
Now we'll get back to work, we'll walk
through the other two steps, and we'll do five together.
Here we go.
Power position, activate and step.
Take a back swing, so now you're feeling very connected
with your body and your brain.
Then from this position, I want you to transition,
some teachers refer to it as the bump,
or getting to the opposite side.
Once you transition, you're feeling all this energy
and activation because the band is stretched far.
And for that to happen, your muscles have to be engaged.
Once you've transitioned, literally rotate your body,
bring your arch into the ground,
and release your toe and heel.
Now, let's do a few together so you can see
how it looks and feels.
Here we go, I'll count it out.
Work with me at home, here we go.
Step one, load, flex, back swing.
Transition, release.
Let's do it one more time.
Step, flex, feel the ground.
Rotate, transition, and release it.
Two, we got three more, we're working.
Activate the band.
Follow the steps.
Rotate, transition, release.
Last two, here we go.
Step, feel the ground, power comes from the ground up.
Big turn, back towards the target,
transition, and release.
Now, let's do this last one together.
Here we go.
Big step, far as you can go.
Knee flexed, big rotation, transition,
and release it.
Try that drill, have fun, and hit it further.

This is the trainer that brooks keopka gets so injured with? Brooks needs to increase the roids like Joey.

April Loves Golf says:

I'm currently doing this drill. Lookin like a wierdo getting ready to crush it though.

John Clare says:

I managed to get a 73-point shot after reading, exercising, and doing the steps evident in golf swing tricks , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it). I was also able to hit 13-18 greens and that was the finest one I had since I began golfing. I also almost strike the green with a range of Five to 10 yards on the other 5 holes. 73s is not a normal thing for me because I have a handicap of 9. When I think about it, I haven’t had a superb round for a long period.

ULaunch Golf Fitness says:

Really like this drill, thanks!

sawy78 says:

If you wish to find out about golf swings in details, you will find out about the techniques and secrets of proper golf swings through the , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it). I`ve read 1/2 of this particular book and also the ideas are excellent. Right after learning the secrets, I tried it instantly and I scored low 80s rounds 3 times consecutively.

David David says:

Horse stance Karate Sir'!., lol' and Genius!

Ethan Haas says:

Because of these golf swing secrets , Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it), I was able to find out “hows” and “whys” of a good golf swing and its various factors. My irons increased 15 yards and my driver raised 25 after I finished reading through the guide for the 2nd time. Due to these improvements, I`m much more confident and I am having more enjoyment with golfing.

george slupski says:

Instead of stupid comments, why don't you 220 yd hitters try to learn something. Joey D one of the greatest trainers out there giving free advice but the couch potatoes making stupid comments

Mark Russo says:

Johnson does not bump nor does he role his arch into the ground. Also I'm pretty sure that a 16 year old 155 lb tiger woods didn't need this drill to hit balls with a steel headed driver amd Tru temp shaft 320 yards 25 years ago. Guessing Jack was the same way 50 years ago when he was hitting 340 drives with the same shaft and a persimmon head. These guys do not have a clue.

Dennis Jivhem says:

wow great body
