Thanks for checking out the hitting bay/simulator setup! Drop your comments below with any questions I didn't answer and I'll do my best to respond. This is my best attempt at a home golf setup that allows you to hit with minimal setup and without dedicating any permanent space to the cage.

Here's a helpful list of info as well:
• ????️Components –
20’ of ceiling curtain track – $40
10×20 impact net – $109
Hitting mat – $100-400
Simulator – $300-$2700 (optional black photography sheet – $50)
????The space –
My ceiling is 9’ and I am 6’3”. The best way to test if your ceiling is tall enough is to take a club out there and move it around. My net track is setup to 6’ on the right, 10’ across and 4’ on the left side. I hit my ball 7.5’ from the net and do not reach near the top of the net with a full swing lob wedge.
The net moves anywhere from 6” to 2’ when hit by different clubs so if you are putting this indoors or in front of a wall, allow for at least 2-3’ to not run into any issues.
I have not had a single thinned shot make it under, but I have 8” of hanging net on the floor catching those balls so be sure to have some extra hanging net. For attaching the black sheet, I just stabbed the fabric, but you could also do safety pins over the hooks if you’re not a heathen.

You should do yourself a favor and look up some launch monitor 2023 reviews to see what you really need, but in my opinion there are two really great options this year.
@skytrak_golf Skytrak+ is the model I have in my setup. This is selling for between $2300 and $3000 depending on when you get it and is as much as I think you should spend if you’re a casual golfer. This will integrate with the top level course software. There are nicer options, but the difference in data quality is pretty minimal between this and models 10K$ more expensive. I’m really enjoying it.
@rapsodogolf – this company has two models out, one at $300 and one for $700 and they both seem awesome and super portable. If you are looking to get great data on a budget while still having access to courses, these are sick.
Dude, well done! I just added this set up to my 2 car garage earlier this week, and I'm loving it. I didn't opt for the black backdrop, but instead an impact screen for projection when the mood strikes me. (I Already owned a short throw projector) For those that are curious, the net that Alex recommended is quite substantial. I have average swing speed, and have no concerns about this net holding up for quite a while. Newly subscribed, so keep those DIY ideas coming!
Did you go with monster mat or cheaper mat?
How far behind the ball do you have for DTL view?
Hello Alex. I absolutely stole your idea and I love it. But I have a question my net came with a rope all the way around the outside of it and it seems to be bunching it up. Because my rope is extremely stiff. Did your net come with a rope through the edge of it? If so did you use the rope when hanging it or will it work if i cut that rope out? I am most definitely going to send you a picture when i finish. Thank you!!!!
I do have a question, actually. What is the recommended distance to hit from mat to net? I see you said yours is 7.5 feet. Is there a range that works best?
My goodness this is EXACTLY what I needed. We have a 3-car garage and we use it for a lot of storage so space was sort of a premium. Legend, thank you!
in your estimation what is the closest you could install this to the wall without having bounce back?

That is not a golf simulator. That's a curtain.
Very nice! Do you hit wedge shots? I’m concererned about ball hitting the ceiling.
Are there any cheaper options for the launch monitor?
Can you just hit into the curtain or do you need the net?
Thanks for posting this video. I'm not tight on space but was having a conundrum on how to properly set up my space for optimal utilization. The curtain track idea is great and will work great for my area.
How do you like your mat? Is it easy on the body?
Single-handedly the greatest hitting that I’ve ever seen well done
How did you connect the black back drop cloth to the hooks? from the Amazon link, it looks like it as a sleeve for a pole only.
nice job. I have a similar set up but I used aluminum hospital curtain rails and a 30' net. way more expensive but it worked out well. still not 100% happy with it because I want to have an impact screen to project the simulator on. if you figure out a way to integrate a screen into the design please post it.
Add the Square golf LM for $630. ????
