As you’ll hear in this episode, over my 20 years of competitive golf experience my relationship with equipment has been hot and cold. Which I believe has left me at a disadvantage not only with quality of shots but also with my confidence in my clubs.
So in this episode I take you through my relationship with golf equipment, how Titleist stepped in and helped me see the error of my ways, and an interview with one of the best club fitters in all of golf, JJ Van Wezenbeeck. So stay tuned to the end to learn what he has to say about the psychological benefits of having the right equipment.

Not taking advantage of all of the advancements in shaft technologies, driver and iron head updates etc is just leaving shots and yards on the table. The biggest aspect to consider I feel (for a low handicap player) is making sure one is pairing the right ball with the right new generation of clubs. I always try multiple balls during a fit or get a ball fitting from Titleist, then find the ball I like based on those numbers (I play the Bridgestone B RX) — I also think tweaking the top of the bag is more benefit to Ams rather than having 4 wedges. Currently I gap with a SIM Ti at 13.5 into a Callway UW 17 then into u505 3 and 4 irons (i dont like hybrids and finally gave up on them all together). That set up covers me for all of the long approach shots and the longer par 3s that we regularly encounter on "modern" courses more than having a 54/56 wedge. Cheers
