GCQUAD is great. But very expensive. How about mevo plus or skytrak. Both around $2000.
That setup would make me nervous. I’d suggest you try a real net. They aren’t that expensive. I’ve also seen a carpet used for a net. That works well. Good luck and don’t miss. Lol.
Would you be better using a tarp instead of the Astra turf you could paint a target ???? and I think a little safer,but thanks for the video I’m going to try something very similar have ordered a net just the setup I’m looking at now
Hi Mike, thanks for the video. Really like the idea of the acustrike but, like you, I've got astroturf and I wouldn't be keen on pegging it into the ground as recommended as it would pierce the membrane. I notice that you didn't have it fixed and on one occasion it moved when you struck the ball. Does it still work effectively when not tied down or do you think the indoor / hard surface would be more suitable for astroturf. Love the channel by the way.
Wow! If you can rock a GC Quad then don’t skimp on the net. Get a Net Return (www.thenetreturn.com). You’ll never have to worry about hitting ANYTHING through the net. They come in various sizes and have optional side barriers etc if you’re worried about misshits (the barriers have saved my walls a couple of times). I’ve got one in my living room. Great design – ball flies into the net and then gently rolls back to your feet. It looks like you’ve got kids. They can kick soccer balls into it, hit baseballs, cricket balls, etc. I’m in no way affiliated with the company, but I can tell you for the golf obsessed it totally rocks!

An entire backyard made of AstroTurf, props for that. $2000.00 computer, $2000.00 worth of clubs, minimum. An $11,000 GC Quad. And a jury rigged, dangerous as hell target to hit into. Come on man!

This little matt does not give the reality of a contact on the ground, we do touch grass before we hit the ground, so it is possible to slightly hit before the ball and hit it well, I insist slightly.
Should change it for a bed sheet, curtain, quilt cover etc etc… Has that little give to kill the speed and power of the ball. Just don't pull it too tight

Looks a bit home brew, I'm looking at getting Archery netting which will stop … an arrow and a golf ball with ease.

Love your content. But this is completely irresponsible even though I like your imagination. Just think about the average golfer doing this and damaging property of others or even worse. Buy proper equipment or stay put is what you should be promoting as a golf professional. Regardless of this subpar content I am looking forward to seeing more relevant content on your channel soon. I use a decent quality bedsheet and it is indestructible, must've hit at least 20k shots into it with no sign of wear.

Absolutely love the outdoor computer Mike. You may missed it, but the same year the Pittsburgh Persimmon driver won its first tournament a thing called a laptop was invented. A laptop is essentially a small, portable computer – very handy apparently for outdoor applications 🙂 Who'd have thought it, eh? LOL

Move closer to the net. You’re too far away. You don’t need that much space to swing even a driver. Should help with confidence hitting a ball in your backyard. Also, hang up some more padding behind the net too.
You can make a proper hitting bay in the back yard. Buy a quality golf net and your set. I have a garage setup that myself and my son hit into???? I can't afford the GC Quad but you can definitely afford a net????
