Squat and Extend for Lots More Distance

If you want more pars and lots more distance off the tee, let's show you how to leverage the ground with the power golf squat that we see the pros do so well. The move is essentially a squat as you transition and a vertical jump (hip extension) as you move through impact. So, let's get to it!

  1. No jumping , no squatting needed to be practiced. Just become an athlete by step drills . "On your backswing you drop down , when you should be keeping your swing circle center
the same height as at address". Your trying to be Hogan I assume . But Hogan shifted , never said to squat ., Keep the right knee moving , yours stops, with the jumping going on.
Jumping is for hurdles. We are swinging . You don't jump while walking . Running , jogging , head is the same height . Golf only gets taller when the swing brings you up to a perfect balanced up right position, facing the target with the club over your left shoulder . Mike Austin said it all. Nothing new . Way ahead still on the golf swing. Injury free.

  2. So many different videos I've watched. None of them talk about squat. Lol. Seriously though. This is a great explanation. Keep golf simple. Great job

  3. This is the move I wish I would have picked up on a long time ago. It puts your club in the perfect position preventing over the top. Sam Snead was the king of this

  4. Just recently I was talking to my instructor about this. I naturally want to squat like this in the backswing. He was telling me that I was doing it too early. A number of YouTube videos show getting to the top and then sitting as a move to start the downswing but that just feels disjointed to me. I know this video is older but I wish you could explain pros and cons.

  5. I was amazed how easy it was for me to "squat" during the backswing. It totally cured my coming up and out of my follow through where I would end up in a bad finish position falling back. I've gained more distance and consistency with this one move. Appreciate all you videos.
