How in the world did loosening my grip just help my chipping lol.
Great Lesson – Can you apply the light grip to any other shot other than chipping?
I'm almost suicidal with my chipping. From 50 yards in, I either chunk it or catch it all ball and goes over the green. It is pitiful. Talk about the Yips! I started chipping with a 7 iron, just bumping and running yesterday. Going to try a couple of these tips and hope for a miracle.
Never knew how to hit chip shots, never practiced them either.
Used the practice green at my club last night and followed the instructions in this video:
First 3 shots were struck perfectly and 4th shot holed it from 14 yards
Amazed at how effortless these shots are to perform.

Chip shots roll more than they carry. I would call this a pitch shot. From this range I might bump and run. Gary Player says "you hit it high it make you cry, hit it low it makes the dough." Basically meaning it's risky to pitch from short distances. There is a higher margin of error.

“Never duff again” is unrealistic. Better to say “duff a lot less frequently”
This has really helped me. I try to hold the club light enough that I feel the clubhead – if that makes sense.
Any update on gareth after one year? Maybe bring him back and check on his status.
You can only double hit a golf ball by an extremely slow swing speed. Due to complete deceleration in this case.
This video and explanation of this really helped me understand a few things I've been doing wrong! I'm psyched to try this in my next greenside practice session!
