Harry, well explained but this is my nemesis. I had a spell where I slowed down my swing and it worked pretty well fo a while but it came back again.
So the problem I have is that I hit or chunk too cleanly and rarely hit ball then turf. I also find that my hip turn is poor and I don't often get a pure follow thru, so I get stuck and twinch my lower back.
Because of this I've tried the various ideas on YT and the main things I try are:- trail elbow facing out, arms on top of pecs, arms together, push hands down, do the "wring out the towel" with my hands (Pete Cowan) and then swing.
Half my shots are decent but I get the feeling that there's so much going on that my "process" just makes me too tight and unrelaxed. (which I know is not desirable).
I tend to blame my lack of hips but it's so frustrating….
