  1. I still putt with my Ping putter. I wanted one so badly as a Jr golfer, but we couldn’t afford one. I bought one brand new back in 1994. It is my regular putter today.

For nostalgia, I did buy a used one from my jr golf days that has the sound slot. I don’t putt as well with it, but I just love the sound.

  2. I don't know the answer, but the first driver that came out with the interchangeable shaft thing is a game changer. Being able to switch out shafts instantly is huge.

  3. I think putting Big Bertha in the top spot was right on. That club was basically golf’s equivalent of the iPhone. It truly changed the game.

  4. Maybe they were iconic for all the wrong reasons, but I had a set of Cleveland VAS irons and I LOVED them. In fact I haven't been able to find any irons I like as much or hit as well since.

  5. Great video and list. Was a lot of fun watching this. I will never part with my Ping Eye2 Becu irons. 3-P.(black dot-stiff shaft), all same serial numbers and registered on Pings website.

  6. Hard to quibble with this list! The R7 was a game changer for me..would have liked to see a hybrid make the list as this has also changed the game..although I guess the Adams was a pre cursor to the hybrid…great list all in! Thanks

  7. I first started playing in the mid 80’s . The difference between clubs available then and now means average players can actually enjoy the game. It’s a shame but before all the new iron and driver technology unless you were a very good golfer it was just a stroll hunting for errant golf balls …

  8. Great list! I have tried a bunch of combinations over the years, but have come back to my R7 Superquad and Ping Zing 2 irons (also R7 draw hybrids).
I might have slotted in the 1980s Mizuno blades used by Faldo, which are pretty iconic themselves.
Shout out to the Ram Zebra, which was possibly the first well known mallet used on tour?
Love your vids – great stuff!! ????????

  9. Great picks Gabe!! Lot of cool clubs!!????‍♀⛳ I think with the driver you could of maybe added Wilson's Killer Whale was a big one back then as well as the Big Bertha!!
