There are a vast amount of launch monitors now on the market and it is becoming more difficult to decide which is the best one for you and your needs – particularly when it comes to choosing one to power your home golf simulator. In this video I explain the different types of golf launch monitor, pick my top 7 devices and explain the reasons why.

I cant find the square glm in South Africa ????

@TheGolfSimStudio says:

I have tested every single launch monitor like you over the last month or so and I have to be honest coming from a gc3 the protee is better than uneekor, trackman io and foresight products. Let me explain. Trackman impact video stops at impact, protee doesn’t. The data is as accurate as anything love tested and I’ve been keeping an eye on the forums and Trackman has just as many’s issues as other launch monitors. The vx is the best value and as accurate as some of the big boys.

Hey garage golfers, Square golf period.

@danielpaulino9553 says:

Great video! Would you say there is a lot of diference between Uneekor XO and Uneekor XO2?

@willjones3908 says:

Square has completely changed my opinion on sim golf. I just can’t see why you’d spend 000s more when Square gives you ball & club data, connects to GSPro, has no subscription charge. What am I missing?

@JamSoupUK says:

Would love a sim set up but that 2.7m-3m ceiling height is a tricky one.

Anyone built a garden room with that height successfully or do most just convert a pitched roof garage?

@johns5870 says:

You can’t but the pro tee VX form Golfroom Eu if you are in the Uk – you may want to remove that link mate. Anywhere else you can get it from?

@Gert-Jan-d5p says:

What about Uneekor EML or EM?

@125phr says:

Protee Vx is awesome ???? !!

@Eleq84 says:

I want protee VX next

@bridgta35 says:

Thanks for the great content! I'm also narrowed my decision down to GC3 or Protee VX for my new home simulator setup. My son is a lefty and I'm a righty, so I'm slightly leaning towards the overhead unit, however, I do like the portability of the GC3. I heard that you do not have to recalibrate the GC3 going from left to right and most of the time we would be playing at different times as well. Our room is right at 14ft, so the bigger hitting area of the Protee would be a plus as well. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, it's really hard for me to pass up the GC3 for some reason, lol. Thanks

The square and mlm2pro are my go to… If I need to go to the range, the mlm2pro of staying home, mostly the square

@John-ei5uz says:

Nice video again. I have been using the MLM2PRO for about 18 months now and also use a pretty high end optical monitor that gives all ball and club data. I compared the Mevo+ with the optical monitor and all ball data was virtually identical. The problem with the Mevo+ is that it doesn't pick up poorly struck shots where gear effect comes into play very accurately at all compared to the optical device. I then compared the Mevo+ with the MLM2PRO and had virtually the same outcome. Backspin was almost always the same between the 2 devices but sidespin was sometimes really different affecting shot shape greatly. I tended to trust the MLM2PRO more than the Mevo+ because its obvious the MLM2PRO was picking up backspin from the markings on the ball accurately using its camera and theoretically if it can see the patterns on the ball accurately for backspin there is no reason it wouldn't be seeing the patterns accurately for spin axis also. The Mevo+ however is a single Doppler radar unit and I don't know how a single radar can actually see both backspin and sidespin of the ball. I'm not saying it can't but it is not getting accurate spin readings when compared to the units using cameras to measure spin. Also, the Mevo+ was terrible reading short chip shots with a ball speed under 20mph making it really frustrating to use when playing simulator golf. I have the Pro Package on the Mevo+ and feel the club data is good enough so I use it in conjunction with my optical launch monitor to get club data without having to put stickers on my clubs. So I hook my optical launch monitor and up to GSPro and have the Mevo+ running through FS Golf on a second monitor just so I can see the club data also. I think that is the future of budget launch monitors. Surely someone can create a system incorporating and optical device part like the Square Golf with a radar as cheap as the Garmin R10 and end up getting something as goos as a Trackman indoors.

Mitch be cool if you did some videos on how you are practicing on the simulator/ gspro. I know you did before but good to see more of them

@PeteSchmidt says:

If you mute the sound it kinda looks like you’re making a rap video. Great videos and very informative! Thank you

@HoselHacker says:

Smashed it again lad

@LukeKnight-c8v says:

By the time my kids leave home and I can put a golf room/simulator in the garden, I'd have seen 100s of your videos.
