ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
Nice exercise. Tried with the feet together. No problem with the balance, but my release was too early that was the reason I so often was hitting it fat. Looks like timing with compression and release is the key for those effortless swings ????
Great video pete Cowan said 90 percent of golfers should play with their feet together for more rotation I do I knew a guy who is a golf instructor who passed his pat playing with his feet together also hale Irwin practiced this drill for 6 months he was a pretty good player 3 us opens
really love it, enjoy watching the channel and practice at the same time.
This works with the driver and other fairway woods as well. A variation with fairway woods is to choke up your grip to the middle of the grip, or maybe even up to the shaft, to shorten the club. Then, as you become more confident, gradually move your grip closer to the end of the handle.
Danny great information yet again top coach mate. Got a question when teeing off if I use a tee do I revert to striking like it’s a driver so up on ball, at moment I prefer to play of the turf but am I losing distance and or accuracy thank you Sir
Love the tempo and pace discussion. Also note the logo on the golf glove. It shows the left hand slightly bowed on the backswing. Along with his moderately strong grip, the bowed left wrist is squaring the club at impact insuring a straight flightline. Include the bowed left wrist with smooth tempos and clubface strike just beyond the ball, and you have a wonderful combination for ball striking success with your irons. Same holds true for your tee shots. Just move the ball position forward a bit and tilt your spine angle back slightly to encourage hitting up on the ball with your wood.
This is not a comment on this particular video – just a suggestion for a future video, so please delete it when you want.
Question: What shape should the shaft have during the swing. At the start of the down swing the head will lag behind the shaft using a line through the grip. As the swing accelerates the head will increasingly lag behind that line through the grip.
NOW, at impact, should the head still be behind the line because the hands are still accelerating the club through the ball OR should the energy in the shaft curve be released to the ball by slowing down to allow the head to spring through and pass the line through the grip?
Clearly shaft flex when related to club acceleration has an effect on this situation. Fast acceleration of pros would put lots of curve in the shaft. Slower swings put less curve in the shaft. Where does all this variation fit into the swing at impact?
Clearly high speed and slow motion playback videography would be an asset and that would need special cameras beyond you normal equipment.
Thanks for your attention.
Cheers
Ian
The graphic and the content is completely different..click bait?
Such great, easy to apply advice.
I've used your torso turn (in a previous video) and your tempo advice (this video) and got my game back to where it used to be. I have no doubts my scores will continue to improve.
Thanks.
As a professional musician, I love the tempo connection.
Started golf 3 years ago (45 yrs old now) and have paid for lessons and bought gadgets etc, and this video has completely transformed my game to its highest level ever. My confidence is through the roof and I’m having to adjust all my iron/wedge distances because not only am I hitting them straighter, but 12-14% further for each club. My drive is straight down the middle 230ish with a casual swing and I’m loving life and loving golf. I’ve already shared this specific video to 3 friends just tonight. Thank you so much for finally making the “ball first” feel come to life for me. I made my first of many divots the next round I played after watching this video, and before I NEVER made divots!
Another gem of a lesson, Danny. Fundamentally sound and very easy to understand. Love that sound which reinforces the method.
Great video Danny. The feet together drill is great. The thing I struggle with is weight shift and I think I,m not alone. When my feet are apart I shift right slightly but I don't always get back to my left resulting in some fat shots and lack of power. The feet together drill takes the weight shift away and suddenly I'm hitting pure shots. I've learned this in the past with this same drill but thanks for the reminder of how good this drill actually is. I'm going to incorporate it into my warmup routine. Thanks
Danny, I’ve watched the video of you with Pete Cowen several times. When you spin the right arm down do you allow the arm to straighten in order to maintain the pressure? Or keep it flexed? This technique has been a massive improvement to my swing, thank you!
