Alright then everyone listen up. I brought a set of Hogan Radials brand new in 1983. Still have them. Just regriped them again last month. Still play with them once and a while. So what's that, 33 years ago. Anyway, take care of them the way you should, and you pass them on to the next generation.

guys you can buy a club rack / organiser for your bag.. they are better in tour bags but are adjustable to your bag neck. they neatly hold your clubs ln place so no bag clatter marks which is why I bought mine.. im really happy with it.. only marks on my clubs are battle wounds.. which you can never get away without having a few..

I use covers on my irons as well but only every other club.. Still get the same amount of protection as far as bag wear but only half the hassle of removing them.. I dont have any on my wedges cuz those are built to get beat up and I think wear on wedges shows that I have been practicing my scoring…

Mizunos website says iron covers are bad as they trap moisture.

I think u gotta look at clubs as tools not jewels. If ur always worried about ur clubs getting dinged up ur not thinking about the task at hand and ur scores will suffer. In my opinion if ur so worried about ur clubs wearing then u have to resign to the fact that u probably will just have to play cast clubs for ur golf career. The reality is with any golf club u will likely get sick of the clubs and want something new before the clubs actually degrade to the level their performance will be effected. Assuming u don't abuse ur clubs

I use covers. Sad I know. They are a pain to take off, but to minimise the hassle during a round I take the covers off the clubs I use most, then spread them in between the ones with the covers on. I am club proud but also hate the sound of the clanking in the bag. Particularly when I think that clanking translates to possible dings on my beloved irons 🙂

Great answer, one thing to think about that probably most don't. Is where exactly you store your clubs, particularly if you live in the parts of the world that have winter seasons. Whether the irons are cast or forged, if you keep your clubs in the boot of your car through winter or in your unheated garage, outbuilding. The low temperatures will over just a little time affect the 'glue' that bonds the shaft to the heads. (applies to drivers, metals etc. too) The cold hardens the 'glue' and weakens the bond quite significantly, which will lead to the ferrel moving so you can see a gap start to appear and the heads also can twist, especially if you're someone who hits a lot of balls off range matts. (at worse can fly off) Better if you're able too to keep your Clubs in a heated part of your home.
