How much do you work on your backswing?
I just listened to your Hack it Out podcast on Shaft Lean. In that you share that an average PGA pro with a mid iron has almost zero shaft lean at address (capital Y), but here you are promoting significant shaft lean (small y). Is this a contradiction or what am I missing?
New to golf for the chip shots around the green etc do I need a 64 wedge?
No nonsense top tip, Mark. Super concise & demystifying, thank you.
Unfortunately when you constantly change between what's the right way to do things and the wrong way, you risk being confusing. It took real concentration to figure out. When the difference is so slight at the top of the backswing, between what you want us to do and what you imagine we are doing, then it's easy to get lost. Otherwise, excellent!
Awesome video as ever, this really helps mark.
One question , who you do this same move with the driver ? Keep the lower case y and add wrist movement once you get comfortable? Thanks again
This sounds like the answer I’ve been looking for. I rarely feel like my hands are in the correct position at the top. I can’t wait to try it.
Would you agree the only feeling in the backswing with the wrists is to extend the trail wrist
“y”es please!!! LOL. Great instruction as usual Mark! Nice and clear. It’s great to see how it all fits together.
Umm… You don't do the "lower Y" @3:20 when you are showing the drill, you have a capital Y. Confusing.
I’d love for you to do a video about lower body movement in the golf swing. My trail knee locks out, my less knee collapses inwards
This might be the best tip on YT
Brilliant video. Just by chance this morning I was trying to steady my entire swing so I was pitching like this in the video. Adding the small y and wrist extension will be great to add in. I feel my right arm gets stuck in my current swing!
You make sound so simple, s i cant wait to give thus try. Thanks
I can play decent golf though with very little power any more. I find these videos at least hilarious in my case because my right wrist has been completely surgically fused 3 times. Most things in the golf swing depend on "lead wrist" bending in a certain way lol. No can do but have learned to get around it somewhat. Cheers
This helps a ton. Very easy to replicate at setup also. Thanks Mark!
Great way to simplify the move. Cheers
Fantastic lesson Mark.
This is a great video Mark. Really simple to understand and reproduce.
This will be helpful to what I’m currently working on with my golf instructor. My issue -problem point is wrist angle on downswing to close the face @ impact. I think this drill will help me. For the Americans out there, translation for tummy button is belly button!
