Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

I played the TiSi 8 degree driver until 2012. Hit it 290-310 all of the time.

@PieterVenter-lq4ft says:

It would be interesting to see how much ball technology, shaft length, shaft technology etc has to play in total distance gained. My son hits a Ping Eye2 wooden driver 260m.

@MisaelValdez24 says:

Rick! Can you give us a direct comparison of the PING G425 MAX against the G430 MAX 10K.
We already have reviews with it against the new MAX but would love to see it against the 10K.

@atreyuwings says:

It would be really interesting to see a high spin ball with the new ping vs a very low spin long ball with the old ping to show how gear choices can effect the game

@djp411 says:

I assume the ET on the bottom of the TISI driver is for 'European Tour" ?

@Drew-nk6hu says:

Great video! It would be awesome to see comparisons with intermediate models like G30 vs G430 Max, catering to those of us with clubs from different eras in our bags.

@StuMarston says:

so really then you only need to change your driver about every 10 years or so.

@1JoeyB says:

This makes me feel old. I had that old ping driver and used for years

@allaneaton8185 says:

I’d love to see the same test against a driver where tech started to really make a difference. Test the new g430 against a g20

@callumreidford6514 says:

Wish you would review more PXG clubs⛳️

@paulfoster451 says:

would love to know whether the shaft length was the same………

@donb3084 says:

Best comparison would be for drivers about five years apart. It would help answer the question "has the tech improved enough to warrant purchasing the latest tech?" If were looking at $500 or more for about five yards, that may not be consistent, best to save the money.

@yenzen9112 says:

Find the statement "packed full of technology" kind of odd when referring to an object that you are simply hitting a ball with.

@jamesoreck6144 says:

I think that the Best drivers mid 90's was the Airbear by Nicklaus and the Callaway. Both Smoked the Ball.

@fredercolani says:

You didn’t mention shaft length. If I can remember the shaft lengths were around 44” give or take 1/2”. Shaft lengths now are around 45.75”.

@martysmith9601 says:

good test to see. Think the old driver would have done better on distance if you would have tried to match up the type of ball used in 98.

@vincentkingsdale8334 says:

Next year the AI clubs are coming….they will self correct and hit the ball accurately

@hazy- says:

Would be a more fair comparison to reshaft the old one with the same shaft as the new one.

@radinsyah1574 says:

Why not use white and yellow balls and test them on a real course? That would’ve been awesome.

@squirtykempkemp8585 says:

I have a ping eye 2. Driver 5 and 3 1985ish.

@j.mccarthy3008 says:

Fascinating! I mean I know all the golf companies are in the business of selling hope to the hopeless! ???? They come out with new models multiple times a year. I like going to the shops that take trades and hit old drivers that are new to me. Still haven’t found anything to beat my old Ping G ! I bought the demo for $150 i think.

@joewhitt2073 says:

I wish that driver had not gotten stolen!!

@cuddycabinrestorationproje9155 says:

With all this technology adding length and accuracy to drives, why are the stats of Greens in Regulation on the PGA tour exactly what they were in 1980s?
