“Hey everyone! Welcome to the first episode of our new video series on creating a golf swing that produces a zero spin axis tilt ball flight. In this series, we’ll explore some effective techniques and drills that will help you achieve a more consistent and powerful swing. Today, we’re focusing on feeling that square path through impact, which is crucial for producing that ideal ball flight. Let’s dive right in!”
First up is the **Square Block Push Drill**. This drill is designed to help you keep your clubface square during your swing. Here’s how to set it up:
1. **Grab a square metal block**—this could be a small piece of metal or a 2×4.
2. Place the balll directly in front of the block.
3. Address the block as you normally would, but before swinging, focus on the block.
*Now, here’s the key part:*
4. Your goal is to push the block **forward about 12 inches** after you make contact with the ball, using the momentum of your swing while keeping the clubface square to the path.
*This exercise helps reinforce the feeling of maintaining a square face at impact.
Drill 2 focuses on using a wall to help with your face and path square. Start by placing the club against the wall, positioning it inside your trail foot. As you begin your swing, slide the club along the wall until it reaches your lead foot. This drill helps promote proper club face and path alignment.
Thanks for watching!
A lot of golfers probably won't have bricks or 2x4s handy. How about a sleeve of golf balls, or a couple of sleeves taped together?
