When I first started I had 8 mismatched clubs in my bag (there are actual competitions where the golfer is limited to 1 club), and had a field big enough to hit a 9 iron…over 50 years later I've never had a formal lesson (my scores reflect that, 81 my personal best), but all you have to do is hit one pure, and watch the ball soar, you're hooked…I'm going to play today, hope to break 100, but sometime today I will hit a pure shot (some days It is a 2 foot putt, lol), and will go again next week…my helpful hint to new players: you are better served watching the LPGA than the PGA, and marvel how well the girls play… the guys on TV simply play a different game, although you can make a 30 foot putt just like Tiger…the allure of golf, your putt is exactly like his putt, one of the few sports where 'we' can match the pros, if just for a moment…
