Age 69. Great video

I'm 53 and when for whatever reason can totally lose my feeling with the driver. I typically hit 10 really good ones a round, 2-3 so so, and one that just sucks. Obviously, that's not ideal. Golf is way easier from the fairway, the closer the better = lower scores.

@rolandgillham8535 says:

I find that difficult to believe. Perhaps a howling wind from behind and a links type course.

London,UK – great video

I took the driver out on the course for the first time today. It was not a great round except for one thing. All day I felt I was driving the ball a little further, but on one hole I hit the best drive I have ever hit on that hole. I have been playing this course for 9 years and the drive today was at least 20 yards further than the best one I have ever had before.

I picked up the game at 57. I'm 64 now, pre covid I was hitting drives 300. all depend on weather ,temperature and how the greens run. Anyway after covid I could not hit a drive ZERO ! So I tee off with a 3 hybrid you strike it right and it will carry well over 200 ! I had to re-learn a new swing like yours. I practiced this swing 5 days in a row. no ball !! just tees. The first time I used it I set up Exactly as instructed came through the ball not fast maybe 100-105. I carried that ball 280 !!!! And the Technique was so different that I fell back after I completed the swing !! But I can tell you ,YES you will be out driving your group but don't get cocky and "GOE FOR IT" You will go right over the top. Even a bad drive goes 250!! I even duffed off of #one and it was straight. I took a 7 iron and blasted that out 200 yards still on a par 5 in 3 ! .Its a Donald Ross course and several greens are beyond challenging .Yesterday the greens were Lighting fast and the pin placements were all in the worst locations .If you were above a hole and just tap it it would run but so many would sit then move slow and as it just gets to the cup it runs around the edge or just past and then away it goes down the green , back to the fairways!! But We love the game !!!

Hello Todd, I'm a very experienced golfer (will be 81 in May) and have been very interested in your teaching since reading "The Bad Lie". My index is 5.1 and I have scored better than my age 303 times, starting at 64. I'm putting off replacement of both knees and have particular difficulty loading and unloading a proper weight shift. I play with 2 bulky knee braces similar to a football lineman. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the excellent content.

That guy was full of shit..no way.! I go to the range all of the time where 65 year olds say that's 300…I measured it was 200. Pinocchio!

72 from NJ. Have integrated a number of your tips into my game. At 5’7” 150 I consistently hit pretty straight drives with between 215 and 225 carry and w a good roll a total distance of 240. Not monster drives but pretty good for my age and size. BTW I play hockey and feel this aids my golf swing. But I credit most of it to your videos and some lessons from a local pro.

56 years old here – I guess the one thing to be careful about would be on item number three not to get into the bad habit of swaying, but rather transferring weigh from front to back and then back to front through impact while keeping a good spine angle and relationship to the ball – yes?

@Norstein49370 says:

Very good, emphasizing the rotation in both hips and shoulders, so much better than rotating the shoulders against the hips. Thank you for good tips, from Norway via Pennsylvania. 75 yo.

I'd like to see a video of your 71 year old hit a 300+ drive. Considering none of the PGA Champions hit drives close to that far.
