One of the primary differences I see between PGA Tour pros and amateurs on my lesson tee is how they power the golf club out of the top of the swing. Do they muscle it, or do they swing it? This is a key distinction, and has a massive effect on contact, distance, and overall consistency.

In this episode, I will show you the two areas where you should be pulling on the handle or grip of the golf club. But, and this is a big but, it's not the pulling you're likely thinking of! It's not by yanking, firing, throwing, or tensing up…it's through a more systematic, body driven action. I hope you see the benefits of this tip, and if done properly, I know your ball striking will improve and your swing will feel more effortless!

I like the concept, but if there is no hand speed from the top to about midway how do you create that hand speed. The Pros generate about 25mph just before shaft P6?

Great technical skills. A face camera would help visualize better the timing of the sequence.

Great stuff, Milo. I need you to comment on something. There's a channel promoting this OTT Miracle Swing stuff – no shallowing – all the top guys come over the top of an inside takeaway he says. Supposedly, the shallowing is hard and completely the wrong way to swing. Plenty of video evidence is provided. I fooled with it and got 10 mph increase in speed at the range but not sure it will hold up in play. Thanks, Milo.

I started watching your channel a couple weeks ago and I’m finally starting to crush the ball like I’ve always wanted. I was having ok success being more arms driven but distances were poor. I feared this “body rotation” swing for fear I’d ruin my lower back like I had been with a bad swing initially. But following your baseball swing philosophy I started really focusing on the weight to the front leg and using the chest/shoulders and it’s been a beautiful thing. Not to write too long, but you don’t hurt your lower back if you are using the pelvis to turn the spine since it’s the base of the spine. I was turning shoulders first and torquing my lower back against the pelvis. Turning the pelvis is turning the bottom of the spine and doesn’t hurt at all. And then you can really rotate the upper body and feel that power. And like you mention in this video, that lead hand really pulls the club up since it’s connected to the shoulder. Specifically I feel that in the pinky finger pad on lead arm. I don’t focus on it, more just notice it’s happening through the swing. Thanks so much Milo. I “like” every video I watch.

The best lesson I have ever had. Milo is the best coach, can’t wait to try this great technique in the course tomorrow morning.
Thanks ever so much Milo.

Great lesson from an incredible coach. I find that bowing to the ball gives me 10+ yards of effortless distance and I learned that with MLG.

When I think about the “floating hands” around the body, this video scene comes to my mind! https://youtu.be/5whE6r-lreE

@FinancialFreebo says:

Lots of top pro's advocate dropping the arms as the first move… Sergio, Justin Rose…

@dkhaea5427 says:

I use this concept and get decent results, however, I am no where near the speed of pros. I’m sure they use their hands to gain speed, how else do you get more speed? Just by turning faster? ????

@dderrig says:

Excellent Milo, the second pull especially is a game changer for me! The feeling of the arms being flung off the chest by your body/turn is so freeing for me! A completely different feeling!!!

@steveperry1344 says:

when i get it right it's good and i'll have it for awhile and then lose it and can't figure out why but i gain it back. always working on it, thnx for the help.

Phenomenal instruction and simplification of a complex kinetic concept.
