I'll walk you through my solution, with help from Rukket Sports to ensure you are getting the most out of your home practice setup! Having coached thousands of students online, one common mistake I see is how golfers are incorrectly setting up their nets and turf hitting mats.

It may seem like alignment and ball flight laws wouldn't matter much when hitting balls into a net at home, but in this video I want to show how important the basic setup of this golf training aid is in making improvements. A good home practice net can be a great tool for training, or it can be detrimental to your game as you'll see in this video. Let's look at a few simple solutions ensure your practicing the right way at home!

Nice tips. Thanks for sharing

@nickbelisle4128 says:

if beating balls on the range is a waste of time…then beating balls into a net is a (waste of time)^2

I find 10-15 mins of practice with a video camera is the absolute max i can do in a single session into a net

@jboy1757 says:

How far back/away are you from the net?

@terrykaraoke808 says:

I had the same issue you describe about hitting more to the left because of my mat placement. Problem is that I have an issue with ceiling clearance that does not allow me to push the mat to the left to align with the center of the net. My question for you is if I could angle/tilt the mat so that I would be aiming more at the center target. Would that be better and not affect my swing? I also use skytrak and wonder if angling the mat and skytrak has any adverse affects on the reading

@ronherman6033 says:

That target goes behind the net for longevity and also to reduce noise at ball impact.

@C_gf says:

What may are u using there

@steviek6484 says:

Great tips thanks

@thomasesparza9175 says:

Instead of hard plastic alignment sticks, it probably would be better & less damaging for most amateur golfers to use Tee Claws or something similar. https://youtu.be/bs7amKIB9cU

When I first started golfing I bought a net and hit balls into it so I could get better, I learned to hit it hard with the center of the face so it felt great. Then I went to the course with my awesome swing and proceeded to flush my irons…into a high slice. I had learned how to flush the irons with an outside in open face swing. Never used the net again.

@kennyg63 says:

What kind of lighting did you use to hit balls at night outside? Really like the Rukket products and appreciate the information you shared on your video. Very well done!

@Golf-ib4wg says:

As a golf instructor, please tell me one thing you have been dead wrong about in golf instruction and didn’t realize it til later

@bjohnson515 says:

Start the ball towards those windows in the background.
I always think of plywood when I see those windows.

@yodaman4674 says:

Those windows to the upper right would've been destroyed by my swing already with that setup.

@ashleywalls4097 says:

This seems obvious. People really set it up like that???

@cpking7 says:

With those 3 small mats with different grass lengths, I pull my big mat off further to the side so the edge is just left of center, then set the small one centered. So I'm standing on the big mat, but hitting balls from the small ones at roughly the same level.

@ReSourceEnergetics says:

Super good video… only perfect practice makes perfect ????Alan

@benmartinez8995 says:

Can’t see ball flight???? For a measly 3,999 you can purchase a full swing kit and see anything you want! Come on Milo you gotta throw a plug in for Tio Ed!

@nreifer04 says:

Smart video. Any stations to work on path?
